Ex tell me she thinks I am the one who prepared her for the one she gets married too

Today I had a really good talk with my ex. We broke up about 5 months ago. We are both 30 and and dated 2 years, and amazingly were each others 1st love. Before we dated her longest relationship was 3 months, and she has had plenty of them. I have always wondered how successful ours would be. I guess we beat all odds.

 

We were talking about trying to get back together, and it is coming to a reality it is more then likely not going to happen. Today she told me that she thinks I am the one who helped prepare her for the one she will marry.

 

I have never heard someone say this before. Any insight on this?

Maybe she learned a lot from the relationship and realized what she wanted? What was the reason you guys broke up (if you don't mind me asking)??

Bad communication, she was afraid to ask for what she wanted, always accepted what I had to give which was a lot, but she never told me what she really wanted until we broke up. Her being 30 still living at home, and not giving it a chance to live with me.

Wow, that's a fairly bold statement...and quite callous. Was she angry when she told you? OR was she just feeling that she could share this with you as a friend?
