threebyfate Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 This is exactly the difference between women and men. Simplisticly put' date=' as a male I want to have sex (and sexual intimacy) to feel my wife loves me and feel love for my wife. As a female, my wife needs to feel truly loved BEFORE she can enjoy sex and give it freely and as frequently as I may desire.[/quote']I'm curious about something. If a woman were to treat you with a blatant lack of courtesy, respect and caring, would you still believe that sex was everything?
She's_NotInLove_w/Me Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I'm curious about something. If a woman were to treat you with a blatant lack of courtesy, respect and caring, would you still believe that sex was everything? Honestly now, if the blatant lack of courtesy, respect and caring were relevant, how could we even get to sex? But to elaborate, if she is treating me with the highest level of courtesy, respect and caring, but (barring some valid reason) withholding sex... I am not feeling it. The love that is.

Plse respond to it directly. But to elaborate, if she is treating me with the highest level of courtesy, respect and caring, but (barring some valid reason) withholding sex... I am not feeling it. The love that is.Well, if you look at this, a component of a romantic relationship v. friendship, is sex and intimacy. But if it's sex with no intimacy, then IMO, it's a complete waste of time.
She's_NotInLove_w/Me Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Actually, I have never said that I believe sex is everything... But to respond to your question directly: NO, absolutely not, sex means nothing without courtesy, respect, and caring... And I agree that without friendship, then the sex without intimacy is not love, it's just sex, which may not be a complete waste of time (for many men at least - look at the friends and lovers boards), but it is accomplishing little to nothing for the married couple who wants to stay married for the long term.
