bethykins Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 My best friends are flakes. Granted, I have children and they don't. But why did they give up on me just because we have different priorities? My boyfriend's friends have stuck by him like glue despite the fact that he has the same responsibilities as I do. My best friend of 17 years has next to nothing to do with me. Nearly 2 decades of being so close we could literally be joined at the hip and suddenly nothing. She promised to be there for me after my first child was born. Yeah, we talk maybe 3 times in a year, and it's usually over the internet after I have attempted to initiate contact. Another of my close friends has gone off the deep end and is getting involved in weird crap, but I accept her as she is, still she never tries to talk to me. It seems like all of my friends have walked away from me and now my entire life is centered around my boyfriends. (All his brothers, sisters, cousins, buddies have become my friends) Is it me?

One is still my friend because I help her out with the babies she had a year ago. I buy diapers and hang out with her.I would keep them if i could tolerate the crying. I really love those kids. I just hate that my other friends have almost completely stopped talking to me. Sure they wave when they see me, but they can't even text me a hello. All they want is advice on dating a married guy or some other random topic. People...ugh!
