BookerT Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Any other guys, feel free to add additional questions: 1) Why is it women are generally not attracted to boring dorks, but many want to find outgoing men and change them into boring dorks? (I.e married, miserable and under LOCKDOWN!) 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? You know this is akin to going to a street stall, haggling the price of an item down to half price and then going "haha, I'm actually not buying" 3) Why do women complain about dating jerks when all they have to do is settle for less. I.e a boring dork. 4) Why do women complain about men being shallow, and then they prefer tall men, and guys with more disposable $? It's true, when was the last time you dated a guy that worked in KFC? 5) Why do some women assume (incorrectly) that the women that go for jerks are all airheads and shallow themselves? Or that it's SOooo..... easy to spot a jerk? 6) Why do some women assume that everyone should be naturally inclined to pursue love. So when some men are pursue lust they frown upon it? 7) Why do some women feel like their personal preference even if it's the exception to the rule is the rule?

That's such a unique thing to a woman. Only we do that.
Author BookerT Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? It's funny to see the look on your faces. . Lol, good to know someone could see the funny side to it, rather than taking this thread too seriously.
New_Life08 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 1) Why is it women are generally not attracted to boring dorks, but many want to find outgoing men and change them into boring dorks? (I.e married, miserable and under LOCKDOWN!) This is generalizing and inaccurate. But I will attempt to answer... the ppl (not just women) who do this probably fall under the old rule that the very thing that attracted you to your partner at first is the very thing that causes future problems. I would guess what pulls at our heart the most is what makes us most vulnerable. 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? You know this is akin to going to a street stall, haggling the price of an item down to half price and then going "haha, I'm actually not buying" Because she thought going to your place or hers after dinner meant going to yours or her place after dinner...not... "Let's go have sex now" 3) Why do women complain about dating jerks when all they have to do is settle for less. I.e a boring dork. The same reason you fall for a woman who turns out to be nothing she claimed to be; or has different ideas about commitment, loyalty, and trust....and no one has to "settle" for anything friend. 4) Why do women complain about men being shallow, and then they prefer tall men, and guys with more disposable $? It's true, when was the last time you dated a guy that worked in KFC? Generalizing again...but it is possible that double standards come into play here. I.e like the way some men want their woman to look like a super model while they lay back eating KFC and looking like Fat Bastard. 5) Why do some women assume (incorrectly) that the women that go for jerks are all airheads and shallow themselves? Or that it's SOooo..... easy to spot a jerk? To be fair I don't think it is so much an issue of being shallow or an airhead as it is about being truly naive. Another thing is what one person might think is the behavior of a jerk, others may not. Women generally have keen intuition, they can spot what is unacceptable to them and usually steer clear. What is wrong with that? 6) Why do some women assume that everyone should be naturally inclined to pursue love. So when some men are pursue lust they frown upon it? This is because it is "natural" to pursue love when dating. It is our environment that causes that to change. So, when some women find out the man they have been dating was only lusting for her; it can be painful...so that is why it is commonly frowned upon. 7) Why do some women feel like their personal preference even if it's the exception to the rule is the rule? I do not understand... I would need to see an example.
torranceshipman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 1. Marriage isn't 'lockdown' - it's awesome, and a new chapter and new adventure for a couple. Immature little guys who need to man up, however, are too weak to say no to their banshee woman and actualy let a woman put them in 'lockdown' then feebly whine about it. Sad. 2. Going back to a guys/girls place can mean many things. Sex is one of about 10 possibilities. Don't treat women like pieces of meat that should automatically put out - it makes you sound like you're about 16. 3. Women don't need to settle for a boring loser - why should they. Be selective and eventualy the right guy will come. My man is amazing - the smartest, hottest, most successful guy I know, and he is a total gent and treats me with so much respect and love - and passion. Lucky me, eh 4. What have complaints about beig shallow, and tall wealthy men got in common? Nothing? For the record my man is both tall and wealthy and as opposite to shallow as you can get. 5. I agree 6. A guy who is after sex only can do whatever he likes - as long as he is honest. But usually this guy lies to get a girl into bed which is total skank behavior so thats why women don't like it. 7. I don't know what you mean. My type is tall, athletic, strong, inteligent, successful, with good morals, and a gentleman who treats me with respect. You can't pick a fault with that. And that's a geat description of my boyfriend....plus, who cares about exceptions to the rule? What rule? I don't care what other poeple do - I make my own choices.
paddington bear Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Any other guys, feel free to add additional questions: Why is it women are generally not attracted to boring dorks, but many want to find outgoing men and change them into boring dorks? (I.e married, miserable and under LOCKDOWN!) Because they are boring and they are dorks. (Are you attracted to boring, dorky girls?) You forget that men also voluntarily choose to marry someone, because they've fallen in love and want to spend their lives with that person. All relationships are about compromise. It might seem boring and dull to you now, and if it's sex you're after, you will probably get more regular and better quality sex in a marriage or LTR than you'll get as a single person. 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? You know this is akin to going to a street stall, haggling the price of an item down to half price and then going "haha, I'm actually not buying" Because you think 'she's taken me back to her place, that means she wants to sleep with me' and then you get bitter when your expectations aren't met. 3) Why do women complain about dating jerks when all they have to do is settle for less. I.e a boring dork. Why do some men complain about high-maintenance princesses when they could just compromise with some nerdy, boring girl? 4) Why do women complain about men being shallow, and then they prefer tall men, and guys with more disposable $? It's true, when was the last time you dated a guy that worked in KFC? Because some men, behave in a shallow manner, like thinking that going back to a girl's house means automatic sex. Re: salary, probably because beyond a certain age, acceptance of a low income (and tiring, slave labour) job shows a distinct lack of drive or motivation to better oneself in some way. 5) Why do some women assume (incorrectly) that the women that go for jerks are all airheads and shallow themselves? Or that it's SOooo..... easy to spot a jerk? It's not that easy to spot a jerk, most women have fallen for at least one at some point. You live and learn. Having said that...you've just done the same thing with your line of questioning, assuming that women are shallow (point number 4) for wanting tall guys etc. 6) Why do some women assume that everyone should be naturally inclined to pursue love. So when some men are pursue lust they frown upon it? Go ahead and pursue lust, no one is stopping you. Many religions will frown upon it. But recognise that most women want to meet someone and fall in love with them, each sex has their own agenda/programming and it changes depending on what life stage you are at. Most women know that many men are just out to get laid and that they will be told all sorts of lies in order to achieve that goal and so will take pains to weed out those that do that to avoid getting hurt. If you're lucky you'll meet some girl who wants nothing serious with you (but then you'd probably fall for her and say she broke your heart and that she was shallow and ruthless and led you on...) 7) Why do some women feel like their personal preference even if it's the exception to the rule is the rule? I don't understand this.
DiscoChick Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 1) Why is it women are generally not attracted to boring dorks, but many want to find outgoing men and change them into boring dorks? (I.e married, miserable and under LOCKDOWN!) I am attracted to boring dorks! Boring dorks just aren't attracted to me! 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? You know this is akin to going to a street stall, haggling the price of an item down to half price and then going "haha, I'm actually not buying" I love watching people do that. I would never go home with a man I meet in a bar/club. He would never buy me a drink because I don't drink. 3) Why do women complain about dating jerks when all they have to do is settle for less. I.e a boring dork. Boring dorks are not less! LOL. I don't find men that have mundane lives to be boring at all. I prefer staying inside or going to a movie/museum/art showing over partying every night. I don't party. 4) Why do women complain about men being shallow, and then they prefer tall men, and guys with more disposable $? It's true, when was the last time you dated a guy that worked in KFC? I do prefer tall men, but I don't care about how much money a guy has. I don't need a man to take care of me or buy me things. That makes me feel awkward anyway. I would never date a guy that works at KFC. I have seen them outside of work. Their use of English is poor, and they have no plans of going beyond what they have. 5) Why do some women assume (incorrectly) that the women that go for jerks are all airheads and shallow themselves? Or that it's SOooo..... easy to spot a jerk? I don't assume this, so I can't answer that. 6) Why do some women assume that everyone should be naturally inclined to pursue love. So when some men are pursue lust they frown upon it? Everyone is not naturally inclined to pursue love? Silliest question ever. Women and men both pursue lust. 7) Why do some women feel like their personal preference even if it's the exception to the rule is the rule? I govern my own dating preferences. I don't need anyone else's rules. I know what I like and refuse to settle for less.
Crazy Magnet Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 1) Why is it women are generally not attracted to boring dorks, but many want to find outgoing men and change them into boring dorks? (I.e married, miserable and under LOCKDOWN!) Nothing gets me going more than a man with zero life interests. Yuuummmmm.....boring. Oh, I can't wait to sink my teeth into that piece of cardboard!!! 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? Because throngs of women everywhere take classes in how to devise evil plots to torture and main innocent, sexually starved men. 4) Why do women complain about men being shallow, and then they prefer tall men, and guys with more disposable $? It's true, when was the last time you dated a guy that worked in KFC? Because there isn't anything hotter in the world than a 45yo guy, covered in chicken grease, who still lives with Mama!!! WoooooWeeeeeeeee!
Awesome Username Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Any other guys, feel free to add additional questions: 1) Why is it women are generally not attracted to boring dorks, but many want to find outgoing men and change them into boring dorks? (I.e married, miserable and under LOCKDOWN!) I suppose that it would mean that the woman would end up feeling more special; like he was changed by her and devoted to her enough to settle down. However, I think you're making the false assumption that all women initially go for partier mess-around types, which they do not. Boring people are not fun to hang out with, and are generally not intelligent enough to hold a decent conversation when you're both home alone. I think that if one women finds a man boring, a different woman might see him as funny so it's just a mismatch to begin with. People shouldn't settle for people that don't make them laugh or don't inspire them. 2) Why do some women meet a man, have a few drinks, take the man back to her place or go to his, and than when the man jumps her she doesn't want to have sex? You know this is akin to going to a street stall, haggling the price of an item down to half price and then going "haha, I'm actually not buying" This is a huge problem in the dating world. A lot of women are rude, quick, and standoffish to men for this very reason. Some ladies know that to "bring a man home" from a bar usually doesn't entail "getting to know him better," but it's completely cultural and it depends on where you're from and how you view it. Women aren't in as much of a rush to get laid quickly, because there's more risk on the line in almost every sense of the act with having sex with a stranger. Men make the mistake of thinking that women think like they do..."Hey, sex feels good, let's just do it!" Women generally do not feel this way. We are the ones who put our feet down and draw the boundaries. 3) Why do women complain about dating jerks when all they have to do is settle for less. I.e a boring dork. Again, not all women date jerks. It's often the "boring nice guy" who will end up being the most controlling, manipulative person to be in a relationship. Men who are more independent and standoffish at least give her room to be herself, and not have to deal with the jealousy issues of a man whose world revolves around her. It's just like men who don't stay with a woman who puts out fast, does the dishes, makes him food, and wants to move in within the first week - there's too much at stake emotionally and you could potentially lose your sanity to a partner who is obsessed with you. Again, I think that if a woman thinks that a man is boring than it's just mismatched chemistry. 4) Why do women complain about men being shallow, and then they prefer tall men, and guys with more disposable $? It's true, when was the last time you dated a guy that worked in KFC? Women know that whether or not they complain about men being shallow, a lot of them are and it's just a fact of life. Women spend insane amounts of money to look like the ideal Hollywood woman. If they can find a man that will facilitate the income for her to remain that way, then it's a good match. A rich man wants a woman with Hollywood looks, good fashion sense and perfect skin, then he pays for it. Women who don't care about that stuff don't need a man with tons of money, but they don't spend money or time on their appearance either. Men seem to only want the attention of beautiful women who take care of their appearance, which is not cheap. It's something to think about. Also, and more importantly for the long-term, women who want children someday (which is most women) want a nest-egg. Whether or not we actually decide in life to have children is irrelevant - our brains and our bodies are made to have children, and to seek out the partner who would best protect us from harm. Even if she has saved up and gotten an education herself, she will still pick a man with more disposable income. Finances are fleeting, and you can never be too careful these days. Although, I do believe that while most women tend to look for a man who makes more than she does, it does turn into a problem is the income gap is very significant. 5) Why do some women assume (incorrectly) that the women that go for jerks are all airheads and shallow themselves? Or that it's SOooo..... easy to spot a jerk? A lot of women tend to have a separatist attitude about other women. For instance, they will laugh at a sexist comment or sexist attitudes because somehow they think that the person saying it means "every women but her." In reality, a lot of women would do better to embrace one another and see that instead of enemies, they should see eye-to-eye more often. I'm not sure about what your definition of a jerk is. However, when I see a woman go for a man who doesn't deserve her, I usually think that there are some trust and abandonment issues there and I try to stay out of the way. 6) Why do some women assume that everyone should be naturally inclined to pursue love. So when some men are pursue lust they frown upon it? Men who pursue a woman and get sex on the first night will not appreciate it as much as if she waited until she was comfortable with him. If she does put out quickly, a lot of men will wonder how many other men she put out quickly for. In other words, she's FWB material, not relationship material. Also, men do not think like women do. They do not handle lust in the same sense. It is said that men are obsessed with a woman before sex and women are obsessed with a man afterwards. It's a completely evolutionary and protective female practice to weed out the men who want to **** on the first date. 7) Why do some women feel like their personal preference even if it's the exception to the rule is the rule? Because it's a lot easier to get laid as a woman than it is a man, and women usually have more options to choose from. Men are not as picky with the women that they date, because they are less careful when it comes to sex. Women know that they get attached to men after they've slept with them, so they want to make darned sure that they would want to stay with that man and be attracted to him for a long time. Also, they look for strong genes in a potential partner that will compliment theirs. Ladies have a checklist in their mind because WAY in the back of their head, they're assessing the building blocks for their future child.

Awesome Username Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I think its unfair to blame biology on being picky and having extremely high standards.. Nothing wrong with wantign the best but say thats what you want dont say its out of my control why i want a guy whos a 10 and makes 500 grand a year.. Why would it be unfair to blame biology on that? Biology is the reason why we want to have sex in the first place. Also, I don't think that every woman is holding out for the 10 that makes 500 grand a year. For one thing, men like that sometimes become womanizers (to a higher degree than normal men) so that comes with its own problems, and also I don't think that people who date who have VERY differing incomes often work out. Women think the guy is controlling (if he has too much money and she's barely making as much as he is) and women see a man emasculated when she's the one making 500k and he's making a LOT less money. The exception to this rule could be that they knew each other and were together prior to one having WAY more money than the other. If a woman you want is holding out for a 10 who makes 500 thousand a year, then you're both out of luck.
randall Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Why would it be unfair to blame biology on that? Biology is the reason why we want to have sex in the first place. Biology can be blamed on desiring basic things like a healthy partner who can support a family. Being extremely picky and having extremely high standards is more about social climbing. DiscoChick Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 If a woman you want is holding out for a 10 who makes 500 thousand a year, then you're both out of luck. TRUE.
Awesome Username Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Biology can be blamed on desiring basic things like a healthy partner who can support a family. Being extremely picky and having extremely high standards is more about social climbing. Social climbing is also related to bettering her children, though. They will be able to attend better colleges, not have to live on Ramen, and not worry about a lot of things that poor kids worry about. This is why a lot of women who want to "socially climb" come from destitute backgrounds. They know how many advantages a child with money has early in life.

You know this is akin to going to a street stall, haggling the price of an item down to half price and then going "haha, I'm actually not buying" One girl did this to me four times, I actually really liked her but by the fourth time I was just pissed off, seeing as she invited me back, jumped on ME, undressed and then at the last minute said "you do know we're not having sex don't you?"-I bumped into her the following week at a party-she invited me back to hers-I politely rejected her and said I wasn't interested. She was livid and could not figure out what she had done wrong. If we had dated and the date ended with a kiss and us going seperate ways I really would not have minded-I wasn't merely looking for sex and would have persisted. But that we ended up in bed together on four seperate occasions and she rejected the possibility of sex actually dented my confidence, as it seemed like she was just playing games.

Money doesnt buy happiness,i grew up lower middle class and was the happiest kid ever and i knew rich kids who were miserable.. So yeah if you want to chase after the hottest guy with a huge bankroll god bless but at the same time if that guy wanders and leaves you and youre left to raise the kid that money wont help your child when your daugther is forever searching for daddy sleeping with numerous Men

I would like a guy to make a little more than I do ideally, but the rich playboys out here in the city can find their fun party gals and leave me out of their lavish, cheating lifestyles. Personally as a woman, I have a career but I would like to have the option of maybe staying home for the first few years of my future kid's life. Why even have children when you're just going to hire a babysitter to raise them? I'm not sure if I'll get the chance, but I'll certainly take it if I can. It's security, not luxury, that a lot of ladies are secretly after.

Apparently money does buy you happiness, up to a certain value level and beyond that it doesn't matter how much further wealth you acquire, your happiness level doesn't increase. I guess it's enough money to ensure that you are not worried about bills coming through the door, enough to socialise and dress well, enough to take a holiday or two a year, to pay for any medical emergencies that may happen, for schooling if you've got kids...but beyond that, your 10th house, 6th yacht and 5th private jet aren't going to make much difference to your feeling of financial security.
