samunknown Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 If a friend (not close) made a video playing a song you liked on the piano (i.e in the form of a youtube video), would that be lame and disappointing or would you actually like it? honesty please
Ronni_W Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Personally, I think it would be cute...but ONLY if my not-close friend personalized the video so that it was uniquely mine. Like maybe sang the whole of "Happy Birthday, dear Ronni." Or whatever. But "my" name's gotta be in there...as often as possible. Otherwise, yes, I'd find it totally lame (coming from a not-close friend.)
Author samunknown Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) oh, i dont know if i should do it anymore then i cant really sing or anything, it just a classical song she mentioned she liked like once, a while ago thanks for your opinion Edited January 23, 2010 by samunknown
Ronni_W Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Well...you could make a big "Happy Birthday <Name>" poster with balloons and such, and put that on top of the piano (or wherever.) Then she'll still know that you made the video just for her. Honestly, I would appreciate the effort and think it is very nice...you just need to figure out a way to personalize it. Or, you could just add text to the video after you've recorded it. Whatever that is called in the video software -- "adding titles", maybe?
Boundary Problem Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 honesty please If you aren't an excellent performer - I would opt for a different way of expressing 'happy birthday'. The birthday is supposed to be about them, not about you performing and being the star...particularly if you aren't that musically talented.
