blueberries Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 i wouldn't even consider going on a first date with a smoker.
blueberries Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 on a side note, i'm surprised by how much a person can smoke considering the prices of cigarettes. where i'm from it's about $10/pack...that's a lot of money one is wasting (aside from the harmful effects)
kiss_andmakeup Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 The closest thing to a smoker I've dated is a social smoker (someone who only smokes while drinking or at a bar/party). 2-3 packs a day would absolutely be a dealbreaker.
zebracolors Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 So interesting, seems like people have been divided into two kinds in society. Those who smoke, and those who don't. And we're aware of this, enough to make it a criteria for or against appeal. Didn't it use to just be as common as everyone having hair or something back in the days before society was really aware of the harmful effects? Anyway, I too have to say that probably would be a dealbreaker for me too. My mother smoked for the better part of her life, (though i don't know for sure if she stopped while she was carrying me) and I always remember being disgusted by just overall smell of it around her. Thankfully she quit fully some 19 years ago. So it wouldn't be because of my mother that I would not date a smoker, but I just don't like smell personally.
