I think it comes down to choosing which you love more - the person or your bad habit. ;) HOWEVER - in order to effect LONG TERM change, you have to make the change for yourself. So you have to love yourself more than you love the habit to be able to make positive changes for yourself. Those are the only ones that stick - the ones you make for YOU.

conehead, this is a no-lose situation. Bad behaviour means one or both of two things:

  1. He's just not that into you.
  2. He's incompatible.

In either situation, why hold onto something that doesn't want to be held? As for self-esteem hits, that's the bigger issue. Why internalize anything, from someone who doesn't care about you?

Many women cannot fathom that a guy actually can be not that interested in them, so they'd rather come up with ridiculous rationalizations rather than acknowledge that for whatever reason he is not that into them.
