gets community service.

How many 120 lb women are with 300 lbs guys who are not professional althletes?

This story is wrong on so many levels, but it shows:

(1) no matter how overweight a woman is, she can get a guy

(2) You can murder a male, and not be punished for it.

(3) community service for deliberetely trying to at least injure or kill someone?

(4) If he had killed her, do you think he would get community service?

Wait, you mean the l inks, or because my life sucks compared to yours???

Someone man is dead, because his girlfriend killed him, and she serves no time.... That's not justice.

One of my sister-in-laws is maybe 120, and very conventionally attractive, long hair, sweet-nature, symmetrical features, fit. Her husband is about 300 lbs and he's a part-time magician and otherwise a stay-at-home dad to their two girls. They are very much in love.

I sure hope he's not planning to sit her to death

It is terrible that a person can kill another and get probation. :( Yet some other people I have seen or heard about kill someone and get 99 years. There is just no standard of consistency at all. Even with all of the variables in each case it is still very inconsistent.

That blows my mind, there has to be more to that story. But the sitting aside, it's not uncommon at all for women to get off of murder charges by claiming he was abusive, oldest scam in the book, and a "get out of jail free" card that is used every day.

This story, if it's for real, is a testament to how severely messed up and feminized we have become as a culture. Funniest thing is if you get 100 women in a room and let them vote anonymously, way more than you think will say the "no jail" result is a "just" outcome, and would answer the question "is it ok to kill a man who hits you?" affirmatively. Outrageous.

Yeah I thought involuntary manslaughter was a 7yr minimum jail time. Maybe it's a state thing.

I'm also not sure how sitting on someone's face is involuntary manslaughter. That sounds rather intentional, not just stupid and irresponsible.

But, she was only looking at 5 yrs if she didn't get probation the article said.

She did loose her kids, but there has to be more to the story.

I'd say it's only recent that women are held accountable for any crimes. In the past, you could have a wife murder a critic of her husband, and there not even be a trial, nothing, just "she's hysterical" and the response is "oh okay..."

it's not like there are more teachers having sex with students today than there was in the past, they are just being held more accountable for it..

But cases like this.. Shows there are still some serious imbalances. There was a fight going on, and her boyfriend manages to get killed? I think it's pretty clear she sat on him to at least injure him.. So I don't see why this was manslaughter.. I think she should have been charged with murder....

the "more" to the story is because she was obese, she could just say "oops" I fell.... and kill someone and get away with it. Because it was a question of fact for the jury, and he wasn't alive to tell his side of the story.

I couldn't find the story and can't watch the video either. I guess it depends on where you live, but I live in Canada and I see injustice daily.

I did real a murder mystery years ago where the police could not figure out how the killer was murdering the people, because they were just found dead without any physical evidence of the crime committed. As it turns out the murder was simply sitting on the victims' chests, leading to suffocation. As this woman was 300 lbs and her boyfriend was only 120, this would not have been a problem for her to pin him down and then keep him down. Just a thought on the how to.

As for her punishment, not right. But I guess there's no telling how and why people do what they do on a jury.

Perhaps it was D/s sex play that went horribly wrong.

That's a horrible way to die: a fatal face sitting.

Juries don't set punishment, they just find facts.

I completely agree with this. He had to have been kicking and struggling to get out from under her before he died. She had to have known she was suffocating him. Murder it should have been and jail time. This is just terrible.

The article ALSO said there had been a history of domestic violence between them. But who was being violent against whom? Perhaps the little dude was backhanding her, thinking "I'm the man!" and she got tired of it one day and just sat on his teeny little body.

Can anyone find who was previously being violent toward whom in this little love story?

Guess the prosecution has some serious explaining to do of why Murder wasn't the charge...

I betcha is was her abusing him.. Also, even if it were him abusing her, that doesn't justify killing someone... If you're being abused, you leave. you don't kill someone.

There's no way on earth, even in our messed up culture, that she could completely escape any jailtime for a manslaughter charge unless there were mitigating factors, and "spousal abuse" is the most common -claimed- mitigating factor in wife on husband crime. So unless there is more detail, she had to claim he was abusive to avoid all jail time.

Another shocker is the amount of community service. Did I read 100 hours correctly? People caught with an empty meth pipe get 5-10x that much community service and usually months in jail to boot.

Ok, here is the quote:

Landingham's public defender told the judge there was a long history of domestic abuse between his client and her late boyfriend.

No lawyer would claim a long history of abuse if it was his/her client doing the abusing.
