So basically, this guy you posted is really pissed that I'm a woman and he doesn't get to be? Awww tough break. I don't blame him, it must be terrible always having to buy brown and navy blue.

That'd be a negative. So yes, the media is painting this picture of what women should be like to be sexy. If men didn't follow that picture that the media had begun painting, no female would act that way. Why? Because men wouldn't find it attractive. So really, it sounds to me like the main problem here is men and what they drool over. The problem is women being slaves to what the media tells them is the defenition of beauty and what Men want in a women..Every Man is different and likes different things.. Sex sells in general these days..Theryes tons of commericals with guys with no shirt and six pack abs selling god knows what.. You dotn see millions of Men saying oh no i have to have a six pack to get women let me go on a diet becasue the media and commercials tells me thats what women want..

Women don't get spoiled without someone doing the spoiling, and who does that? other women? Hell no, other women are too busy tearing each other down to spoil anyone. Men are the spoilers of women. Men are the daddies that raise daddy's lil princess. Men are the ones who allow women to escape any sort of social or cultural accountability for the same level of bad choices that get men branded. Men are the ones who reward only physical beauty in women and then complain when women develop shallow attitudes because of it. Men are the ones who try to buy affection from women as the lazy way out instead of making themselves attractive and desirable in other ways. Men are equally responsible with women for the transactional nature of many male/female social interactions. Women didn't wake up one day and say "Oooo, wonder if I can create a culture whereby all I have to do is look pretty and people will fawn all over me?" We all had a hand in that state of affairs. We have all readily worn the yoke of the modern media-consumer state and become good little consumers. We all rewound over and over when Janet's titty flopped out at the Super Bowl. We all watched Pam and Tommy. We all watched Paris. We all have our 250 channels full of raw sex appeal. Speaking of Paris, does anyone ever stop to realize what the interest on $50 mill will buy in terms of a publicist? or an ARMY of publicists? Hilton trusts probably let her hire "staff," but betcha they place strict limits on "partying money" and allowance. That girl can go and do anything in the world for free, no matter the cost, because she hired the right publicist(s). Do you think she actually pays for anything she does... ever? I think she is a frikkin genius. As far as his wondering why women never mature out of this? People aren't stupid. When women see men literally worshipping at the altar of female beauty, who can blame them for going to and staying on the dark side. Hell I would. We aren't talking Madam Curie here, there are few young people out there who would not love to spend their youth partying their asses off all over the world for free, and getting -paid- for it, without even touching their ginormous inheritance. A male equivalent: I look back at what Johnny Knoxville did with "Jackass" and have an equal level of admiration. My friends and I did all the same things he and that crew did at that age, we just never managed to get -paid- for irresponsible things we were going to do for fun anyway. That's genius.

This is easy to prove. Make a myspace profile with an average looking guy, wait a week, see how many comments he gets. Make a myspace profile with an obese girl, wait a week, see how many comments shes gets. The obese girl will have at least 30-40 comments. The average guy will have zero.

The obese girl would have more comments from male non-family members than the average guy would from BOTH family members and non-family members. What men find attractive and what they want in actuality, I have come to notice, are two different things. Just like men can say they find certain models " hot" but they might date a girl completely opposite. Don't twist her words, she was only saying for a majority of men, not ALL. And this goes the same for women. You can't jump to a conclusion that all women want a Tall guy.

I am not speaking for all men, I am speaking in general. As this thread was meant. Media portrays skinny to be sexy. Skinny means different things for women of different heights. We all are very well aware that bones sticking out is not attractive. Any dimwit would be able to see straight through that media fail. Skinny, curvy, sexy. That's what it's about. Sooo many women go out and get boob jobs, and liposuction, and whatever else they can afford so that they are attractive in mens eyes. Men are visual creatures. Females want to please men by giving them something pleasant, visually. See what i'm getting at? Women, on the other hand, are more emotional creatures. That's why you don't see men flocking to the plastic surgeons office to get a bigger butt, or to get rid of those love handles.

Oh B.S With the exception of my current partner, and one guy I liked in the past who was better looking than past partners but still only about a 6 physical attrative scale, all the men I've had an involvement with in the past did not strike me as attractive off the bat. None of them were groteque or anything, just very plain nothing above a 5. That said, I gave them a chance for who they were as people and my attatchment to them through our interaction would eventually make me attracted to them. My current partner is the only one who was an immediate hubba hubba .

There are plenty of men buying those ab machines, going to the gym etc etc exactly for this. Those tables have already started turning. The covers of men's magazines have professional models with 5% body fat. Look at the latest hollywood hunks from Twilight etc. So it's all the same and just getting worse. Most attractiveness is simply instinctual anyway. But media and society have made caricatures of what good looking is.
