stevejohnson1976 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 your shoes will have no meaning to him/...
OnlyJake Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Yes, I have tried a pair on and I still will never wear them. I find them incredibly ugly. I realize that they're warm and comfortable, but I do have sufficiently warm and comfortable shoes to wear that are much cuter than Uggs. Most people I know who hated Uggs converted the second they tried them on! I think it depends on where you live too, though.
tigereyes1428 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 OMG - i love my UGGS I cant believe people dont like them they are cute teddy bear feet - warm, go with everything, amazing
Dolos Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I think they can be cute given the right conditions, though i think im in the minority on this one. Regardless if there exists a guy who is going to write you off because of your choice in footwear i haven't met him, nor would i want to.
meerkat stew Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I actually like them outside because women wearing them can't run away from me as fast when I pop out of the bushes.
Johnny M Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 For some reason, I've always associated uggs with a Birtney Spears-type look - trashy, tacky and no class.
alphamale Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 why are women obsessed with wearing the same footwear? what a bizarre phenomenon
TheBigQuestion Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 For some reason, I've always associated uggs with a Birtney Spears-type look - trashy, tacky and no class. Same here. It's expensive fashion for chicks that don't have a clue about fashion. I've noticed a positive correlation between emotional maturity and not wearing Uggs among females aged 18-23. Seriously. I found that not wearing Uggs makes a woman more likely to possess the attribute of "being able to think for yourself." I went to a certain large flagship state university in New Jersey for the past 4 years and I used to play a game in the winter called "See How Many Girls You Can Spot With Uggs and a NorthFace Jacket." The depressing thing is that I lost count almost any time I went out anywhere. Tons of girls convinced of their own uniqueness and specialness who all wore exactly the same thing.
sagetalk Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I googled them and I must say I am now glad I know what those horrid things are called. I'd say no on the uggs. If you're hot, it doesn't matter though .
You'reasian Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I ask because I have a 3rd date with a guy, but just going to his place to watch a movie (I havent been there before) and I am being a total girl and dont know what to wear!! The first two dates were dinner and drinks so I could dress up properly and wear heels etc. I'm not a trainers kind of girl, or ballet pumps. I wear heels at night, flip flops in summer, uggs in winter. As is freezing at the mo, I am thinking skinny jeans, nice top/sweater and my uggs, thats how im comfortable...but I know some guys HATE ugg boots on girls! so a quick survey...what do guys think of Uggs? I know...this is the most SHALLOW post ever. but oh well! just wear the boots...
Stung Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I don't really know or care much about what women 18-23 wear on campus, as my campus days are behind me. All I can tell you is, I'm six feet tall and I have an occasionally recurring ankle injury, I wear my shiny fancy heels only when necessary for work or some kind of very formal event. Most of the time I wear some kind of ballet flats, sandals or Chucks, but when the weather is cold and wet and I just want to be comfortable I'll throw on some waterproofed Ugg boots and be damn glad I don't care that much about what men think of my shoes, because my feet feel good. When I was younger I wore heels much more often and my feet hurt all the time, I can imagine what a relief Uggs might have felt like back then in comparison. And no, I don't wear Crocs. Uggs have a point to them, comfort; I fail to see the point in dayglo Crocs.
Citizen Erased Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I would never wear them outside my home. And even then I don't because I don't like them. When I was in high school there was this girl that would wear them during winter with a short skirt and tights, really classy. That's the look I associate them with now, I'd never be caught wearing them, especially by someone I want to date.
Johnny M Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Same here. It's expensive fashion for chicks that don't have a clue about fashion. I've noticed a positive correlation between emotional maturity and not wearing Uggs among females aged 18-23. Seriously. Well, if you look at the posting histories of the girls who professed their love for uggs in this thread, you will find plenty of evidence in support of your theory
SoulSearch_CO Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I can't STAND Uggs. So...freaking...ugly. I've always thought the name fit perfectly. For some reason, they just LOOK to me like they'd stink. Now...that being said, I am referring to the "classic" Uggs that everybody seems to think are so awesome (****, they're ugly). I HAVE, however, seen some super-cute Uggs of different styles that I would LOVE to have. I drool over the dang things everytime I have to go into Sports Authority for something else.
callingyouuu Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 If girls think they're comfortable, then I don't mind them wearing it, but just don't let it be the only "fashionable" thing you're wearing. I disagree with the comment that they go well with lots of clothing. I find their classic form to be very inelegantly designed, and they look ESPECIALLY obnoxious and overstated when paired with skimpy clothing.
meerkat stew Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I'm getting really tired of the misuggany on this board. It seems people in this thread just want to hate hate hate on uggs all day long. Don't you all realize that each ugg is it's own separate design with it's own color, texture and style? Why all the uggs hate and generalizations? Do any of you realize how many baby ugglets give their lives just to make one ugg? The brutal drunken louts running out on the ice floes brandishing ugg gigs and spearing, spearing, spearing away until all the bloody uggs are squirming and squealing about in agony.. just sickening. Have some compassion for these delicate creatures who die by the millions to adorn women's feet!
SoulSearch_CO Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 ^ They need to change the name to Fuggs.
tami-chan Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Hi Stew! Where've ya been? OK. Let's get one thing straight. Uggs are soft, but far from warm in any enduring way in extreme outdoor conditions. There are much better things to wear on one's feet if the goal is warmth. Live possums for instance... LOL!!!! too funny. I have UGGS, I wear them when I am being lazy...uggs, short jean skirt and t-shirt...I don't have a possum though...lol..!!! Gosh...I hate CROCS...
meerkat stew Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Hi Stew! Where've ya been? Hey tami! Just sent pm as to whereabouts. Don't know if it went through. Some fun fun threads today

Hey TC, you probably know me as someone who likes to jump out of airplanes for fun. but I got banned (why I don't know) Hope to be back online as my real self in a couple of weeks
