In the past, I've date 2 other guys that were younger than me. Once when I was 20 and he was 18, and later at 24 and he was 21. Currently the guy I'm seeing is 22 (again, I'm 24). With the first two "younger" guys, I stopped seeing them because of their complete immaturity so I admit I was a bit on the careful side when mr. 22 year old asked me out. Admittedly, I really like him.

But, when I told my BFF his age, her instant response was "cradle robber!". Of course, she was joking but it still did feel kinda funny to me.

I've never given it a second thought when a guy is older than me and have even dated someone 11 years older than me - alhough, I would never ever date someone 11 years younger than me. (Even if I was in my 30s or older...well, maybe I would, I don't know)

So why is there a kinda of stigma when a girl dates a younger guy but it's totally normal when a guy dates a younger girl?

As I have learnt from a similar thread I posted, the age difference between your boyfriend (and previous ones) and yourself is negligible. It doesn't really make a difference and I don't think there's a stigma attached to it. If he's mature for his age than it'll be fine.

Some girls like to go for older guys because they are more "experienced". I guess some don't like the idea of a guy dating an older girl, because the girl would be more "experienced" and, thus, making her more of the man in the relationship. I'm not quite sure actually. This might be total nonsense, what I just said there.

I'm sorry, what's your problem, again....?;)

I'm 45 and I'm dating a 37 yo. He is more mature than some 45 yo men I have dated.
