OpenGL Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Should I just completely exit this miserable reality and spend 100% of my free time playing wow? I feel like if I spend too much more time in this reality it won't be long before I end up like Sodini. At least in wow, I can live in a fantasy world where people actually accept me.
aerogurl87 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Don't play WoW, play Second Life. It's alot more fun!
theBrokenMuse Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I don't give a **** as long as you avoid my server.
Author OpenGL Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Don't play WoW, play Second Life. It's alot more fun! I actually tried playing Second Life a few years ago and found it extremely boring and archaic. I didn't see what the point of it was and it felt like something out of the early 90's as far as user interface and graphics.
EricaH329 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Personally, I like Diablo more than WoW. Nothing wrong with doing what makes you happy
Author OpenGL Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 I don't give a **** as long as you avoid my server. Scared of getting steamrolled in an pvp arena?

It's better now, and it has more of an open community concept to it which I like. You can do whatever you want whenever you want. But hey, if WoW is your thing, go for it!

You are so negative. SO negative. You wonder why no one gravitates towards you? Who the hail would want too? Are you all chipper about going to funerals? No one else is either. But you are like a perpetual black rain cloud, and you have droned on and on about your average looks. Life isn't fair, and maybe if you were a 9 or 10 you could find and audience interested in the constant negativity that just oozes out of every pore. Since you are just of average looks then no, you can't be a dowdy downer 24/7 and expect anyone to be interested not even average looking girls. Seriously, why are you so negative?
betamanlet Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I cannot get laid to save my life yet I still absolutely hate and cannot stand any form of computer games. Why?? Why must I be like this? Why can't I have more nerdy likes??? I would rather watch stalagtites form than play WoW or Xbox or anything.

I didn't really see people doing anything in Second life other than talking and building houses or whatever.
Author OpenGL Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Seriously, why are you so negative? I'm only negative as far as women/relationships go. I'm positive in every other aspect in my life. As far as why I am negative, what reason do I have not to be?

You come from a different generation.
theBrokenMuse Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Scared of getting steamrolled in an pvp arena? Actually, I'm not too keen on BG but I do plan to try the arena once I hit 80 with my lock alt. I even researched into creating what should be a damn good destruction/affliction build for her. Should be fun.

I haven't played in a while but I still have 2 80 toons with I think S6 epics. Outdated by now I'm sure but I'm pretty sure I can trash anybody who doesn't know how to play regardless of how good their gear is. I just hope pallys and warriors didn't get gimped while I was out.

As far as why I am negative, what reason do I have not to be? Well not EVERYONE is in bad and unhappy relationships. There are plenty who are happy and blissful. That includes all types across the board. Skinny/fat/plain/exotic/average etc etc etc. You seem to be living a self fulfilling prophecy. Okay, go play WOW and I can only hope and pray that you and Mrs.Joness' RPG characters meet so you two can have a love match.

People constantly bitch about things getting nerfed or other classes being OP, then again, people tend to complain every time they tweak anything. While I am not a n00b, I'm still pretty new to this game to the point where I haven't gotten up to the ten man stuff or other cool crap. They totally changed over the dungeon finder recently making it easier to get groups for instances and heroics, and the map system which now integrates what used to be a questing add on. You should sign on and see for yourself sometime if you haven't been on recently.

I didn't really see people doing anything in Second life other than talking and building houses or whatever. Hmm, well yeah that could be argued. But hey, I met my ex boyfriend on SL and all that socializing is what helped to fuel our relationship from the beginning. And you can do stuff other than talk and build houses. Look for different worlds and lots where they have themes like Ancient Egypt, Fighting type RPGs, and then there are the ones geared more towards socialization. There's alot to do if you just look around.
Enema Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think you should just stick with WoW, you seem pretty cluey. You and real people, not so much.
zebracolors Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Speaking as someone who also plays an MMOrpg, I am not going to judge you on that. But I do recognize the attraction to such games. I feel that it is possible to make very real friends by playing games such as those. So I don't think there is anything wrong with these games, as long as it is coupled with a healthy dose of reality, as in not letting things like it consume you, so much that you, the real you, forgets how to be social in the real world. In those games its easy to hide behind anonymity (And sometimes this can have negative consequences) with your different looking avatar. You can act like you would want to in some real world social situations. You never have to show anyone what you really look like, but you can connect with people via language, which is what humans do being the social creatures we are. But you can choose who you get to know better. Of course its also possible to make a friend, and still not know all about that person. Its also easy to pick and choose what you want to reveal. And when the wall of keeping people at arms length is down, its very possible a friendship or more is being formed.
sally4sara Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 So WoW attracts vertically challenged men who whine about life not being under their control...... Who knew?

If youre not going to do the work to improve your love/social life, (and I dare you to) and cry "woe is me", then yes. Bury yourself in WOW.

Dolos Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As someone who plays wow you should play if it makes you enjoy it, but there's really no reason to bury yourself in it. I recently went back after a break and the random dungeon finder was a good change of pace and icc is actually the most fun ive had in pve since level 60 naxx. Arena has been a total burst fest since bc ended, but its looking like they might tweak that for the next xpac. Personally i enjoy wow because its fun, and if need be i can alter my play time depending on how busy i am. If i have lot of class work and am busy i can play a few hours a week and still have fun, if i have extra free time i can play more. I guess what im trying to say is you dont seem to be all that happy right now, so maybe you should play again so you have something fun to do. In my experience people do much better with the important things in life, school, friends, work, etc, when they have a hobby that they enjoy doing.
cognac Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I personally prefer military strategy games or third person shooters. Fantasy games like WoW never appealed to me because I don't really like the interface, I like to do things I fantasize about in real life, not in some other dimension with ghouls and dwarves. Prefer games like GTA 4 where I can shoot missiles at police cars and take a ball bat to gesticulating hipsters, or Rome Total War where I can crucify and destroy a whole city because they wasted my time and money by not submitting to a peaceful annexation. (a perfect metaphor to dating ) Games are a great way to relieve stress and stay out of real life troube, to say the least
