HeyThere Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 In another thread I noticed that the man had such a fear about becoming a father that he literally stopped having sex with his wife. Also, I’ve known a woman with a related fear, even though she was using birth control; she had an overwhelming fear about having sex (intercourse) and consequently wouldn’t allow it. While these are two extreme cases with other contributing factors, I’m sure there is everything in-between and would like to hear thoughts and experiences about this.

I spoke in another thread about having some "erectile dysfunction" And I said I thought it was all in my head.... You bring up a good point long story short I am in a committed relationship with this woman whom I LOVE with out a doubt as a matter of fact we are engaged to be married this summer... Needless to say condom use stopped some time ago (for one thing I hate the damn things) and she is not on birth control. So with that all being said I am not ready just yet to become a father although I am not totally against it. I just think the timing would be off if something happened before we got married plus her family is VERY religious so you know how that would make us look. So every time we have unprotected sex I am thinking about getting her pregnant. And I think that hinders my performance ability.. I mean its on my mind EVERY TIME I penetrate. But my fault it does not bother me enough to use some form of birth control....
confusedinkansas Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Another extreme (IMO) I have a very dear friend who's wife is determined to have another chlild. They have 1 - a 9 year old son. She has been ill off & on for as long as I have known him. (about 5 years). He does not want to bring another child into this world. (he is 41 & she is 39) He has told her so. She just whines & pouts about it. The desire & nagging about it goes away for a while & then WHAM out of nowhere she's back at him again. He has completely stopped (or at least he's told me this) having sex with is wife for fear she will trick him into having another child. He explains how frustrated he is by this - especially that they aren't having sex at all........I believe that he is a PRIME candidate to have an affair & have told him so. He claims he's thought about it.
