GBP12 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I'll try to be as brief as possible. A few weeks ago I met this girl who I'd seen before but never talked to. She was in my classes in college. I've graduated and she's still in school. She's hot, but I never thought much about her. The first time I approached she somehow knew who I was, and she laughed and said she had a crush on me like a year ago. So from there we've been chatting every few days, met up at bars a few times, etc. Earlier tonight I was supposed to go out with her, I guess on what you'd call a date, but I canceled it this afternoon and told her I had to work. Of course, I didn't have to work. I just got nervous. Now I have a lot of girl friends and they always tell me I'm 'really good looking' or 'hot' or all that of that stuff, but the problem is that once I'm actually into a girl I get nervous and stupid and awkward, I never know what to say or how to act, I'm always really boring at first, etc. I can only feel comfortable around women when I don't see them as a potential girlfriend. I can only get women when I've been drinking, and I don't "date," the dates I've gone on have been so boring, awkward and uncomfortable that I'm totally soured on the subject of it. I don't even know how to date. Now, as expected, this girl is really upset. She thinks I'm blowing her off, which I would expect her to think ... And she probably thinks I think she's ugly or stupid or something, but I am into her, I do think she's cool, I just know if I put anything into this I'm going to end up looking stupid. A hot girl basically admitted she had a crush on me the first time we met, begged me to ask her out, and I am still finding a way for it to not work. Ugh, I'm such a nerd.
