I swear, this is like the 3rd year I've tried this. It is hard!! How is everyone else doing, and what types of things? Just interested in hearing others stories and how you're progressing :bunny:

Ugh, yes I am trying to lose weight this year! My years resolutions are to quit smoking, lose weight, stop being lazy and be nicer to people.:lmao:

Meh i've been trying for a couple of years, but hopefully this is the year I stop being stubborn.:D The first thing i'm planning on doing is to stop smoking. (that seems to be the hardest one for me) I figure if I stop smoking I can actually have the energy to start exercising and not be out of breath when I try haha.

Making plans to reach a goal normally just backfires on me. I rather go with the flow ( in a very reasonable manner).

I've been going to the gym consistently, eating more healthy ( lots of veggies) and been seeing a dramatic increase in defined muscle and strength. I don't have a set goal for how much weight I want to lose because I don't like basing my life off a scale. Instead I prefer to look at my mirror and go " ooo look at those biceps and abs".

One thing I really want to do however is look good in a two piece by summer. I can see that happening.

Over the past four years, I have lost 80 pounds. However, 20 crept back up in 2009 and I am determined to have those 20 back gone by summer.

This is one tip I give everyone about loosing weight. Slowly ramp up the diet and exercise. Back in November of 2008, I started my weight loss plan at 260. After about six months I was around 215.

For example, I was always eating fast food. I would grab a big mac, large fries, and a large coke. I started out by going with a large diet coke. I done that for a few weeks and then switched to a medium combo. After a week or two, I started to sub salads a day or two at a time. Then after my body adjusted to the healthy stuff, I started planning my meals. This is another area that can help. Eat five to six smaller meals a day. I space it out so I am almost always eating something. It may be almonds, fruit, or just something healthy to keep my body from going into starvation mode.

I done the same with exercise. Hit the track. Run a lap walk a lap and go home. Do the same two or three times a week until you can run one mile. Then keep ramping up.

Hope this helps.

My life story the last 10 years. Isn't it amazing how our bodies change.

I was thin most of my life. then at about thirty years old wammo the weight just piled on. I lost about 90 lbs. and was doing great and about three years ago it just crept up.

Has any one heard or researched the soy effects on certain glans, plus I am on a ton of heart medications.

I in Sept. I started walking about four miles per day sometime twice and lifting weight about 40 minutes per day at a local gym. The first month or two I must of lost thirty lbs. But since Dec. I've gained back about 20, now I ave gotten much stronger physically, bench pressing three hundred lbs. But I'm starting to get depressed about the weigh gain again. I was eating about 1,000 cal per day and the person at the gym said I have to eat at least 1,500. Also have been told the beta blockers I'm on plus the amount of soy is the reason, I used to eat soy cerial for breakfast, soy burgers, soy meat, tofu in all my dishes, soy drinks on the blender with my veggies or fruit.

Any help or opinions.

E.F about 28% not good

Cholesterol less then 90

Optimum weight they measured me should be about 180.

Need to loose about 65 Lbs. more.

I'm always working on improving my body and health. While weight loss isn't a goal right now, improving my fitness level is. In 2010 I want to run at the very least a half a marathon.

I have heard the pros and cons of soy. I personally stay away from all soy products. The cons say it lowers test levels in men. I have read conflicting reports on it. You have several options instead of soy. Here are some options. Oats, almond milk, turkey burgers, ground turkey meat, chicken, and whole foods. It is very hard to find processed foods that does not have soy. You have to look hard to find soy free products but they are out there. Heck even multis have some soy.
