Minnie09 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Sometimes I feel that I am only "close" to my husband when we drink together. It scares me. It's like an escape from the daily routine stuff and it happens very rarely, but if we have some drinks together we laugh more and we speak more openly and we share more. Anybody else out there who knows what I am talking abt?
make me believe Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 It's totally normal to laugh more & be more open when you're drinking. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions! If it's the ONLY time you feel close to your husband, though, you may have a problem. Why can't you speak openly to him when you're not drinking? Do you feel uncomfortable/shy/awkward around him? If so, has it always been like that? There may be some underlying issues in the relationship that need to be addressed, so I'd look closely at whether this is actually a problem or if you're confusing general drunken merriment with "closeness". (I know after I get a few drinks in me I'm suddenly BFFs with everyone in the bar )
ladydesigner Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I hear ya. Although my problem is that I cannot enjoy sex with my H unless I have had a drink. It's sad but true.
