b52s Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I saw this on an OK Cupid profile....now, Smoking is typically deal breaker with me (since I'm a non-smoker) and sure it is with some of you....but...would you make an exception since she only does it drinking? I thought you were either a smoker or non-smoker, that's it.
Malenfant Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 yeah, i've got to say that always bemused me as well. However, i do know people who only have a smoke when drinking, something about the drink and atmosphere tends to make smoking more enjoyable. they see it as a bit of a treat. the odd one now and then probably wont do too much harm. I'm a smoker and am a bit jealous of people who can take it or leave it!! if i was a non-smoker I would probably not want to be with a smoker, but i could tolerate them having the odd one now and then.
Vertex Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Probably not a big deal if it's just a rare/occasional social thing, at least to me. I would probably let that slide... unless it was so frequent that it was clear they were actually a smoker.
New_Life08 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Some people are social smokers. I have a friend that only smokes when she plays golf, or drinks. Otherwise she does not. Some people refuse to become addicted. That is a wonderful quality. But, it seems if they can stay away from it most of the time, then why impose such a health risk at all? One thing is to make sure that you put into your profile that you do not want to date a smoker. You do not want to become involved and then change the rules.
