Set you up meaning, "introduce"

Now this is something I noticed about men...well SINGLE men.....they'll hardly EVER or NEVER set you up with any women, why? They want the whole harem to themselves.

I actually had a guy I think that was interested in 2 women at once, and I said, "Well, how about we all go out and do a double date thing"

And he goes, "No way, if one isn't interested in me, I'm going to try for the other." :p

Kinda makes sense I guess, so I didn't fault him entirely for his selfishness. lol

Anyone agree? Guys, do you save ALL the women to yourself?

If the woman in question is someone that the other guy is interested in himself, of course he isn't going to introduce you to her!

And if she is a platonic friend, why would he want a friend to date her? Just to be caught in the middle if there is some drama or if they date and it doesn't work out?

If you and a friend of his hit it off, that is one thing. But to expect him to play matchmaker? No way.

Nah, he just has to do the introduction, not the matchmaking. :)

Then I don't understand the question.

If she is a (platonic) friend of his, won't you get introduced to her at his birthday party or some other event? "Jane, this is John. John, this is Jane."

That is entirely different from you asking

"Well, how about we all go out and do a double date thing"
and hoping/expecting him to comply.

Yes it seems to be the case. I've been set up by male-friends before, but they've always been attached.
