I don't see what is wrong with that bachelorette seeing a crew member. If the Bachelor is seeing and doing who knows what with multiple women and that is OK. The bachelor says "I was cheated on" well, how is that? They are all single, not committed, so what is wrong with them seeing a crew member? If there are other single guys around, why not, how is this a problem, and how is this anyone else's business? Why should the bachelorette (Rosalyn) put all her eggs in one basket against all those other women when the Bachelor has multiple eggs he is seeing yet is not "cheating".

DOUBLE STANDARD, ANYONE?

I agree with what you're saying.

Will sit back and wait for this playful topic to spin off into a serious debate. ;)

Because she wasn't there to be dating the hired help..

The show had her tied contractually into what her role was on the show and she slept outside that

It seems they ( the show ) fired the employee of the show and booted her off...

Good for them..

She is a cheater who was just trying to sleep her way up the ladder and going about it the wrong way..

Double standard.. No..

The show is a business arrangement first and foremost that starts with the contract that exists between them and the network show and then goes to the relationship between them and the bachelor.

How can this be a double standard ?..

The name of the show isn't cheaters

I think we need to understand that many people who go on these types of shows are really just looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

Who would seriously pursue love on a show where a potential partner was going to be dating and making out with your roommates for weeks? I'm sure some have that goal, but I think they are few and far between.

The goal of the show is about ratings and conflict and what will "sell" best to the pandering audience. Sure, that might be a jaded view, but since so few of these relationships actually last, I have a hard time believing the goal is to truly find love.

Yes, all in good fun.

Just got info from reality steve and he says there was no sexual affair, she and the producer were booted off with the "scandal" to get ratings.

Doesn't shock me.

The goal is for cash, exposure and I suppose, fame, albeit this type of show can't really be classified as real "fame".

I agree with A_C, where she had a contractual obligation to the show, to play a particular role. Imagine any actor, doing his/her own thing, regardless of script. Buh-bye...

That's outrageous!!! Under contract, and bound to a promise of fidelity?

Man, that makes about as much sense as..... uh.....

Marriage?

Yeah, I think the producers decide early on who is going to be the "Omarosa" or, villain, and then just edit creatively to show the participants how they feel will best sell for the purpose of ratings.

I've heard that the contract you have to sign to appear on these shows is amazingly unfair to your own interests. But people are willing to do it for the exposure and the dream of becoming famous, even for being a "villain."

Might I suggest that Reality TV must die and should never have been born?

hahahahaha....

I guess the show divorced her then... for infidelity...

According to Reality Steve they weren't even in a sexual relationship at all. Contestants are allowed to socialize and become friends with crew members. The two were flirty with each other, causing the women to talk, one stating "there was a sexual affair going on" with the two. The producer did make the statement "I'm starting to fall for her" but there was nothing going on.

The show took the rumor and grabbed it for ratings.

By the way, House Hunters is completely fake, too. My friend's son and his fiance recently finished taping for the show and the couple knew before the show even began the hosue they wanted to make an offer on before they even agreed to be on the show, the other two houses the two were not ever interested in, they were chosen by the show. So the house they "choose" at the end, is the house they always wanted in the first place and the other two were just listings someone on the show found for the show's sake.

Is Reality Steve the guy who figures out the top-secret endings to all these shows and pisses off the TV folks by spilling it all?

Yes and he is always right.

Interesting. I have a friend who's really upset with what she heard about this one. What do you think?

Reality Steve really knows his stuff....

I saw the ads on TV...

I think those reality shows are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid.. it's not even funny.

They (women) are all in love within the first two shows... :lmao:

and for the bachelor.. he's sure he finds his wife after the very first one..

how more 'idiot' can you get...

These shows are, in most part, scripted.. the producers choose 'subjects' (biotches, drama queens, etc.) so the ratings won't fall... it's all about 'ratings'...

but I agree with Art, she signed some kind of stupid contract ... saying.. 'you got to fall in love with the Bachelor on the first few episodes.. cry a lot.. throw a few tantrums if you can... and maybe fight the other girls for him..' :lmao:

Although I'll throw this idea back into the mix: if it's all fake and she's contractually obligated to play the role, how many other actors are bound by contract as to who they can and cannot have a relationship with when off-camera?

Maybe that's really how it goes, but isn't it just another measure of how twisted this form of entertainment has become? It purports to be "reality", yet she was prevented from doing something real because she wasn't doing the fake thing that she was supposed to?

This is the only intelligent thing I've read in this thread :D Now I know why the dating scene is so messed up. People watch reality TV crap like the Bachelorette and try to apply their newfound 'knowledge' to the real world.

Ha ha I do not take my Bachelor watching knowledge into my real life dating life. It's pure entertainment.

I kind of feel sorry for the producer guy though, he lost his job all in the name of ratings, if he really did lose his job and if he even exists.

If it's true Rosalyn was lied to about getting to see her son during the show, and they pulled a bait and switch on her, it's kind of upsetting. If it's true there was a friendship developing and a few flirty comments, no evidence of sexual affair, then it's fair that this guy lost his job. If it's all true what Reality Steve brought to light, The Bachelor is a complete scam.

I hate reality shows like the Bachelor and the only reason I even looked this season up was because I wanted to see if they chose a hot guy this time (which they did). But I'm not going to spend my time watching that crap. The only reality shows I watch come on one channel, Bravo. I love me some Millionaire Matchmaker and Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now those are some good reality shows right there. :)

Most brilliant thing ever said on this board. Ever. Hell - smartest thing I've seen on the internet, period. :bunny::bunny::bunny:

It's taken over MTV and VH1. I guess they think reality TV has something to do with music .

No, I love the whole Rock of love series and follow it religiously. Not even because of Michaels, because he's absolutely not my type at all, but all the catfights and the drama are so entertaining. :D Plus, some of the girls are really hilarious and the show makes me laugh alot.

So, in a nutshell, reality tv rocks!
