Huh? So you provided an example to help describe your thoughts but I am not allowed to make judgements off the very example you provided? *scratches head* I'm not sure how we are suppose to talk about anything if that's the case.

No, I am neither missing the point or getting off topic. I do understand that men have been insulted and disrespected by women. I also understand that men have insulted and disrespected women.

worse thing that's happened to me (and it was on a thread here last month) was a girl I was really into (and made me believe vice versa) turn up to a date with an engagement ring on her finger..

That really hurt.. Made me feel... worthless. t

Asked her the next day why she still came out on our date and she told me that it wasnt a date and that we have never been on a date.. total wtf moment

guess what it comes down to is that there are alot of people out there who are just dickheads regardless of wether they are male or female.

Yeah, but the reality of the sitauition that mean suffer from this most of the time, more so than women, because men are the ones doing the pursuing and putting themselevs "out there" to get a woman interested in going out with him.

Women just have to sit back and let them come.

I think women think Men are unemotional robots who have no feelings and ripping a man about his looks isnt a big deal to Men and dont effect us or something

No they know it is a big deal to us and it effects us they just don't care if it does.

If you measure yourself by the attractiveness of your female partner, you are destined to fail. Do not place that weight and level of unfun on any female. Whether she is hot or not.

Too bad society at large in general often measures men by the attractiveness of the women they can attract.

I agree that women can be b*itches, but that doesn't mean men should give up!!

This is my dilemma right now actually, men don't approach me. I have never ever blown anyone off in an insensitive way, I usually say I have a boyfriend, as a polite way of turning men down.

Its those insensitive, rude women that make it difficult for the rest of us to find a decent man. Please don't give up!!! We are out here!!

I approached a women one time and she took one look at me and said " you don't have enough money for me ". I had to laugh and thanked her for being honest with me.:o

Ouch, but the prostitute comeback opportunities must have been rich though.

"Sorry, didn't realize you were at work, just how much is around-the-world these days?"

Ok - question for the guys.

I dont know how you do it and I applaud every single one of you for ever - as a teen or an adult - being able to approach us and ask us out.

Sometimes, depending on the guy asking us...it doesnt feel like a compliment but I try to remember that for him - in some fashion, it was. Usually, its always just nice.

So - you tell me. What is a nice way, a preferred way - to say no while also letting a man know you appreciate it ?

"That's very kind of you, but I'm not interested."

Noticed your sig, you might enjoy the song "In every dream home a heartache" by Roxy Music, if you aren't already familiar. Best version is on the live "Viva Roxy Music" album.

For me, it's really simple, and this plays right in to classic femininity. Women pride themselves on being empathetic and compassionate, so, put it to use.

'I'm really flattered that you cared enough to ask; honestly, I don't feel that way about you'

I remember this response from a lady business colleague whom I asked out and, with caring honesty, romance was put to bed and we went on to remain colleagues and friends.

I've never had a woman 'ask me out' so have no practical experience, but would likely, if I felt strongly about the matter, answer as my ladyfriend did to me. TBH, I don't judge people in the vacuum of the moment, preferring to know them better before passing judgment on attraction, but respect that other people operate differently. Live and let live :)

Yeah, but they only do that when the guy is paying for things.

Men do not pay for anything these days. I do not count an occasional McDonalds' dinner as the payment for sex and sweet words. IMHO if I have sex with a guy and he is bad at sex, that is typically the case, I sacrifice myself much more than he pays for McDonalds' dinner. I do all this disgusting stuff including kissing and vanilla sex and after that I am sensitive and merciful enough to tell the guy that he was so so amazing. As result of all above mentioned, I made him happy and I did not get anything pleasant except McDonalds' dinner.
