Anyways, beforehand he had asked my opinions about dating like do i like to date more than one guy, etc. Then when he went out asked if i was dating anyone (exclusively) we have been talking/iming twice a day since then. I am supposed to see him this week sometime. I had a date planned before i met him for Friday, do i cancel it?

Even my counselor, a smart woman I trust and who has never led me astray, advised that I try it, since I never have. Think about it: women have more freedom and choice than we ever have in history! Enjoy it. The more I've thought about it, the more I think it's the only sane way to fly. You're trying to meet a great guy -- and unfortunately, there are a lot of not-so-great guys to disqualify before you find him. Multi-dating is the most sensible and efficient method of meeting a man you want to get more serious with. Those who don't make the cut will be eliminated quickly, so they can move on in their search to find a suitable partner, too. Do what YOU want to do, what is best for you, and be honest with everyone about what you're doing.

In the UK,'dating' means you've met someone, and so you're heading on a steady relationship, to see how you gel.... In the USA apparently, 'dating' only becomes exclusive when you both say "I do"....
D-Jam Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I think it's ok to talk to and date other guys AS LONG AS THERE IS NO EXCLUSIVITY WITH ANY OF THEM. I also think a good practice is NOT to date someone continuously while trying out others and keeping that one person in the "non-exclusive" thing. 2-3 dates in my book is enough to figure out if you want to pursue something deeper or not. You don't owe anyone loyalty until you pledge it. So when you want to call it "dating/relationship" and say this guy is your "boyfriend", THEN you can't date other guys. You can still talk to guys as FRIENDS (provided the boyfriend doesn't get jealous).
meerkat stew Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 No, don't cancel a date due to having a single date with another person. Why limit yourself? Enjoy dating both and having fun. It doesn't sit well that this guy is asking such heavy questions on a first date though, maybe you should just dump -him- and keep your next date.

But he asked if i was seeing anyone which to me means exclusive, which i am not. I guess until he says to me that he doesnt want to see anyone else, that I will go on that date. I mean, he was just asking he never said anything about us being exclusive.

I guess until he says to me that he doesnt want to see anyone else, that I will go on that date. I mean, he was just asking he never said anything about us being exclusive. What did you tell him when he asked if you were saying anyone else? If you said you weren't and you are obviously you should tell him the truth.
