Author b52s Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 Things that people type in online dating profiles can give us hints as to why someone is not in a relationship, or they can just be poorly chosen words that tell us nothing about that person's character. For example, the woman in question may very well be a spoiled, privileged brat, or she may be someone who has had the misfortune of dating 5 very dull men in a row from the dating site. If the latter is the case, it is still a bad choice of wording for a dating profile, but we may cut her some slack in the red flag department. Such lines are usually a bad sign though. Takes some analysis of the rest of the profile, talking on the phone and meeting in person to know for sure. Meh, if it even GETS that far.
carhill Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 OP says she's 6'2" and 'cute'. Tell me, what did she put down for a height preference in males? You can always fire back with something sarcastic like 'how about hanging out for some hoops?' meaning basketball, and see what happens. That stereotypes her stated height sarcastically as well as provides a 'challenge'. My instinct is the profile is bogus. Nice entertainment value though

Nice entertainment value though You know what, that's the surprising thing...she never said anything like "I like to date taller men since I'm tall" Or ANYTHING at all in regards to height...surprised the heck out of me...but it might be on her mind.++ As far as what you said about shootin' " Hoops" she said this in one of her profile questions The first thing people notice about me: She said, "My height, I always get comments, so let's be original" That being said, Carhill, you think YOUR comment is original? LOL
samspade Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I'm starting to this in quite a few female personal ads... For instance, I just read this: I get bored very easily so I have to move around, so hopefully you can keep my attention. Seems rather presumptuous...and kind of snobby. More like, "You better keep me a amused, or I'm outta here" Is this a red flag, more in the "getting bored very easily" can make "keeping her attention even harder? What are we, some kind of tour guide or court jester that has to keep her laughing? Usually someone that bores easily, would they be considered only short-term material and nothing long term? These are mere s h * t tests that women always use on men. Ignore them. In fact, if you want to run good game, flip the script on women. Use some of these lines on them and you'll see their attitude change in a heartbeat. Keep the mentality that SHE should be proving herself to YOU.
carhill Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 That being said, Carhill, you think YOUR comment is original? LOL Yeah, maybe like 100 years ago So, have a little fun. It's just electrons

Author b52s Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 Yeah, maybe like 100 years ago So, have a little fun. It's just electrons or how bout, "How's the weather up there!" Okay, that's still bad even by today's standards.
carhill Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 If you're good at banter, you could have some fun here. Then again, your virtual amazon woman might hunt you down and eat you.

Author b52s Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 I read this part of her ad: "I enjoy the walks on the beach, but I DO NOT get in the water! I will drown. I love to watch old movies Most of my favorite actors are dead. I also find lots of joy in "people watching," especially at Disney. People crack me up! " Notice she didn't say "LONG" walks on the beach, that would mean she would only need to take ONE step. And how can she drown? Figured the continental shelf would be just a mere sandbar to her. She likes to people watch, wonder how many people watch her (Better tone it down, don't want to get too hurtful)
