Author shadowplay Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 This is EXTREMLY rare. I know of a few celebrities who married plain girls before they became famous and stayed with them. This is quite different as they fell in love, built history, family etc. It is still admirable though. I don't know of any that chose to marry a plain girl while they were famous. Also, some men wll have non-main stream attractions. Say a foot fetishist will love a plain girl with pretty feet over a gorgeous one with ugly feet. But this will not be obvious to others. My point is, "physical" compenet is HUGE in any relationship. Do you really think shadow, that your bf would be with a girl with a carbon copy of your uhm "internals" in an obese body? I think not. It's actually not that uncommon. There are a bunch but these are just off the top of my head: Bill Gates' wife is average looking, and I'm sure he could have married any hot gold digger he wanted. Hugh Jackman's wife is much older than him, and not especially attractive by Hollywood standards. Cillian Murphy's wife is average Matt Damon's wife is just above average/vaguely attractive Ben Affleck's wife, Jennifer Garner, is only vaguely attractive imo
Author shadowplay Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 You have a really nice pancreas, Shadow. That's the nicest compliment I've ever received.
Lizzie60 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 ...are the sexiest thing ever! And I don't mean men who dismiss pretty girls out of bitterness from past rejections, or ones who would prioritize looks if they could. I mean men who genuinely care most about what a woman is like on the inside. I have the utmost respect for guys like this. I usually lose immediate respect for a man who puts a heavy emphasis on appearance, even if he values other qualities as well. I think the easiest way to tell which category a guy falls into is to look at his past girlfriends. If they're all very, very attractive, then he's probably superficial because it's nearly impossible to land multiple women who are both gorgeous and have all the other qualities down. How do other women feel? there are no such men... all men checked the 'external' first.. BEFORE the internals.. if they say they're not.. they're lying.. it's that simple.. I don't buy that.. If a woman weighs 350 lbs.. I very much doubt he will see the 'internals' first...
Jaytb Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I think I care mostly about internals. I don't mind a plain looking girl, as long as she's not overweight. I guess that should be considered superficial (after all, I consider it superficial ) but I don't mind an average looking or plain face. hey, looks are just a part of our species. Why do you think people buy good looking cars, computers, phones, etc? People often don't know of the "functionality" inside, but they can only see what it looks like, so they end up choosing the more "aesthetically pleasing" choice. I'd bet most people who buy digital cameras know nothing about the specs inside, and instead judge them on price and looks! I know I would, since I know little about cameras.
alphamale Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 i find that many of the ugly/fat girls have the best "inside" qualities but i'm not attracted to them physicially. that along with they are no challenge. if i wanted to get laid by an ugly/fat girl i could have a different one each night. they are very nice and have character and morals beyond reproach but i just don't want to sleep with them. ergo they have no chance with me.
callingyouuu Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 These guys do exist, but I also think they often don't stand out of the typical crowd and unfortunately go unnoticed against the strong chins, high cheekbones, and Brad Pitt's abs you see every once in a while. Most men who are attractive and well-groomed often expect the same from their women, and I personally think that this is perfectly normal. We all have our standards for what we want, but I think it's a bit unfair to expect the idealism of men to hold looks as a 3rd or 4th priority if they work hard to make themselves look good in public.

It's all very subjective. Still if you were to calculate percentages, an overwhelming majority of celebrities is with gorgeous women.

Yeah, the majority of celebs will choose externals, but not all. I think people overestimate how many men are this superficial.
Sam Spade Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 ...are the sexiest thing ever! If they're all very, very attractive, then he's probably superficial because it's nearly impossible to land multiple women who are both gorgeous and have all the other qualities down. How do other women feel? Meh... Quite frankly, I'm beginning to think that obsessing over the internal qualities (beyond some basic must haves) does more harm than good in dating and establishing relationships. Decision paralysis - due to the extremely large number of variables, it is impossible to find an optimal solution. So, for me it's better to keep the variables low, and therefore not overthinking them beyond basic decency, good attitude, and good values. Also, she must be pretty . Soulmates/shmoulmates, people are fundamentally alone, and I've found out that expending too much energy into finely tunning with somebody on cosmic spiritual level is largely unnecessary. So, the question is, what do YOU mean by 'internal' qualities? IMO, beyond basic fundamental character traits peoples biographical idiosyncrasies are rarely THAT interesting.
Jaytb Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 You have a really nice pancreas, Shadow. hey, I own the internal organ jokes. We must fight to the death!
alphamale Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 hey, I own the internal organ jokes. We must fight to the death! women are very attracted to my spleen for some reason
SadandConfusedWA Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 But Ben Affleck could get a much more attractive woman if he so desired. Yeah, the majority of celebs will choose externals, but not all. I think people overestimate how many men are this superficial. I agree with you there. I am just saying that I consider J. Garner pretty enough and Ben Afleck marrying her doesn't really prove that he is not superficial.
burning 4 revenge Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 You have a really nice pancreas, Shadow. I wouldnt want to date someone with messed up internals like a diabetic
Jaytb Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 women are very attracted to my spleen for some reason Spleen = a part of the immune system = one reason for scent being a determining factor for women So I guess you do have a popular spleen alphamale
johan Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I wouldnt want to date someone with messed up internals like a diabetic I wouldn't want to date someone with really big internals.
burning 4 revenge Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I wouldn't want to date someone with really big internals. sometimes i get too curious about what their internals look like
bwidger Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'm not sure if someone already said this or not but, I couldn't date someone just based on their looks unless I had no conscious of my own, and I'm sure most guys wouldn't... Yeah, a lot of guys go first off looks -- like I think a lot of women do as well -- but when it comes down to it, I really can't see how two different personalities (assuming the woman's is bad) could work...
johan Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 True. If you have any kind of conscious, you're going to be require compatible internals.
