Absolutely everyone.

I know i'm dumped and i'm going to notice it a little more, just like a learner driver notices more L-plates but actually EVERYONE is in a relationship. So many of my friends, my cousins, and all in the past couple of months.

I'm still in my bitter stage and can't be happy for them.

*sigh*

If you're thinking like this, what would happen once Valentine's Day comes along?

I've been single for 2 years ( omg) but honestly I don't really mind, since when comparing myself single with when I was in a relationship, I'm actually much more happy single. At least I'm not always jealous or in a state of anxiety because I think my boyfriend won't like me if I gained a little weight.

I've been single for over 4 years.

I've had people in my life- but no substantial relationships to speak of.

It can get you down sometimes, especially around the holidays.

Every last one of my friends is in a relationship- married, engaged, expecting, etc.

One of my oldest friends is having a dinner party tonight, but I opted not to go as I would be the only single one there... It does get tiresome after a while. :(

Oh come Valentines day i'll probably be hiding out in someones old abandoned bomb shelter crying looool

I was positive for a while but I was so in love with this guy that I find it hard to not be bitter THOUGH your points about the anxiety and envy are pretty valid. The weird thing is though i'm not with him his actions STILL make me anxious and jealous so its like I still have that ball chained to me without the positives of the relationship.

D, how did you go for 4 yrs without a relationship? But then again I think everything always and ultimately comes down to compatibility.

Just be happy for them and live your life. Their life has no bearing on yours.

Begrudge no one their happiness and yours will be everlasting :)

I started off just being too hurt to date anyone else- then I went crazy with the muti-dating for a couple years, then I got tired of that... I have just been coasting for the past year. I date, but I get ansty if I feel close to someone. I went out with someone for a few months last x-mas- but it doesn't qualify as serious.

I have to admit- it can get lonley, but it's so rare for me to meet someone I am attracted to.

It really does feel like everyone I know is in a serious relationship.

im not. tried dating here and there in the last year. what a rollercoaster ride. someone put on the brakes.

That seems to be the case BUT we all know just about half or more of those people will be wondering the same thing on December 31, 2010.........

good point lovelydaze. maybe this time next year a lot of us here will have found someone to be with : ) i know i hope i do

ya know i have been in a couple long term relationships. love being in them. and i know i will probably somehow meet someone again. but right now for some reason it seems crazy to me, like i cant even imagine how i am going to meet someone, or when, or anything. it feels like it is going to be forever : (

Hey trueblue, 20 more minutes and we're there... in a brand new year....

Strange, how old are you? You're in your early twenties IIRC? I'm 23 and at least half of my friends/relatives are still single (or at least keeping whatever relationships/flings they have so low-key that noone knows).

LOL, trueblue72ny!

Don't be impatient. We all will fall in love again but we want it done right, don't we?

Let's try a friendship with someone without the goal of falling for them. The best relationships come out of being just good friends first.
