JaggedRoad Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 When I was with my ex, she asked me if she could write me in as her benefactor (I think) on some UK residency form. Her grandaunt used to be the benefactor, but she asked to be removed due to some legal worries. The ex told me that I didn't have to do anything, and she just needed my permission to have my contact information included. It sounded fine to me, so I told her yes without asking her for more details. I understand that what I'm trying to describe is very vague because I don't really know much about it myself, but should I be worried about this? Furthermore, should I find a way to have myself removed from whatever it was that she written me into?
mickleb Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Hey JR. I have no idea what that might be about, either, I'm afraid. I would guess that, if you didn't need to sign anything, it can't be THAT binding. If you feel you need to, you could write a businesslike email just asking to be removed from the arrangement. Read her reply and then return to NC. It doesn't have to be a big deal. Just treat her like she's a corporation not a human(!) Make sure this is the last thing you need to contact her about, if you do, though. I don't want to be hearing about 'oh, and there WAS this thing, as well..' in the New Year! x

I just realized my ex is still the prime benefactor to my life insurance. I need to change that ASAP.
