b52s Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I know people are talking about online dating, but ever actually been to a "meet N greet" where people wear name tags and hang out at a bar ...ever did this. LIke a Plenty of Fish party?
CaliGuy Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Nope. 90% of the people who sign up for those are men. It's better to just hang out and talk to people you meet every day.
jerbear Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Many of the "meet n' greets" I go to are NOT for dating purposes but many times there is some after party meetings; then they fade away from the group. It is like minded business professionals getting together. No pressure and no dating mindset. The POF parties and orthers are really parties for singles to get together and hope there is an spark. Different purpose and mindset. You won't meet women in the above group at POF parties. POF is just for a different set of people.
Art_Critic Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Nope. 90% of the people who sign up for those are men. hahaha.. can you imagine the room setting.. one woman and 84 men.. hahahahaha
stevejohnson1976 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 i dont think it could hurt just temper your expectations....have none
alphamale Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 i've been to 2 POF parties and they were about even in men-women ratio. the only thing was there were some pretty creepy people there and a very low ratio of college graduates and professionals. seemed to be a lot of biker types and definitely a 50+ age range... i wouldn't go again.
D-Jam Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I never went, but did look at the RSVPs on many. Most of them usually take place in bumblef**k. I can't blame them though because with me living in Chicago I have way more options to meet people than they do, so they arrange the parties to meet new people. Unfortunately most of the people I see who RSVP are overweight men and older men and women. Usually 2 men for every 1 woman. In my book if I was looking to meet women I'd find it a bust and not bother. Probably better luck with speed dating.
Vertex Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Honestly, I think people would have better luck just finding a hobby that involves them leaving the house. You're almost guaranteed to meet likeminded people this way.
tkgirl Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 hahaha.. can you imagine the room setting.. one woman and 84 men.. hahahahaha no, but maybe I should! but with my luck, there wouldn't be enough jerks .... ok, I'll stop now! (maybe)
