I have all these visions, things I want to do, try etc. I want to make it happen. I know it won't be easy. How did you successfully make changes in your life?

Most important is to put it down on paper then write an action plan with dates on them. Put the paper in an conspicuous place so you see it and subconsciously work on it. For me, I've put my plans down on paper, put money down to put a financial interest in it (otherwise I lose money), and then execute the plan.
knaveman Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I plan too, but I don't write it down. I lose things. Just pick something you want to do and do it, then pick another thing. Take as much time as you need to feel comfortable but follow through with the things you plan.
ladyblondie Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I feel the same way you do. 2010 is the year to make things happen. Im working on having a very successful year, and the writing down goals, and action towards them sounds like a good idea.
Trey Walter Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hi nama, there are some different techniques you can use to make changes in your life: Think about yourself and your life as a whole. This will lead to some new insights and it could create some motivation to make changes happen.Write down your goals. (Like already mentioned.) Writing it all down is really effective. You should give it a try, it works.Remind yourself to stay motivated and go for your goals. Try to motivate yourself at least daily. To motivate yourself, you could do something like reading the list of your goals or reading motivational quotes. Just push yourself in any way. Well, those are the things that I used to do and still do to change my life. Trey

I have all these visions, things I want to do, try etc. I want to make it happen. I know it won't be easy. How did you successfully make changes in your life? How do I do it? Well first of all I have to want it.. and then I simply put my mind to it. I focus on the positives vs. the negatives of the change I'm trying to make. In all cases the positives out weight the negatives.. and this keeps me heading in the right direction. I'll stress it's much easier to focus on one change at a time.. or else you will stress yourself out. Good luck. You can do it. Mea:)
Bronan Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 How did you successfully make changes in your life? I haven't made TOO many changes (yet), but I'm in the process. I started seeing a therapist late last year and she's helped immensely. Unfortunately all the changes I need to make are going to be pretty huge - I'm doing the quarter-life crisis thing and dealing with a failed relationship (we broke up twice before and still got back together, both of us have incompatible desires, sex has plummeted, we don't talk about our problems, she admitted that she "still doesn't trust me" yesterday) and finish my education. All of this going to be hard and I'm absolutely going to be out of my comfort zone, but I feel like I'm ready. I think the best way to make changes in your life is just to get past all of the self-doubt and self-sabotage, which has been the hardest part for me bar none.
