She didn't "immediately dismiss" him based on height. She was thinking aloud, she also said something about him being prince charming handsome, so don't just go seeking the negatives !

And yeah, I think the fact that he KNEW the date would be written about, he wanted to stand out and be all Gandhi like. I'm all for volunteer work, but lets get together and eat a burger and THEN plan to do something like that so I can at least eat a granola bar first !

It seemed the cat allergy was more forefront on HER mind, and I don't blame her because my dachshund I've had for eight years ain't going ANYWHERE !

He's a douche, holier than thou, but then again, she immediately dismissed him based upon his height. Enjoy the read!

He's not a douche, seemed like a nice guy (the Godiva chocolates were a nice touch). I am all for giving to charity, but I would be like "Let's at least split a sandwich" (although it sounds like they did share an appetizer). She did go there (a restaurant!!) expecting to eat. He just seemed eager to impress, which isn't a bad thing, at all.

Okay well, she didn't feel like there was any chemistry, and him not asking for a number basically kind of sealed her theory. That happens, and my guess is that he spent a majority of the time talking about himself, general trip-ups, and so forth. Plus, if I just resigned from my job that WOULD NOT be something I would tell a date on the first (or even first couple) dates.

I tend to approach blind dates very conservatively as neither of us know each other and the less pressure, the better, imo.

The being said, the only part I have a problem with is:

"George sent us an e-mail to forward to Rachel.... saying he'd had a good time and asking if she'd like to get together again. She replied, saying the cat allergies were a deal-breaker but suggesting they be friends. "

If there is no chemisty, which there obviously wasn't in her eyes, just say that. No need to intertwine obvious bs into this.

If she was trying to not hurt his feelings, she did a real piss poor job of it. Amazing.
