amerikajin Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Okay, now for something a little different. Just thinking about my favorite "f-, errrrrr, um, mood music . Mark Anthony! This guy's a total bad ass. Enigma! Others?
Arabess Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 It depends on the 'mood'. Sometimes rock/head banger is the best.....sometimes it takes the style of Eric Clapton. The best thing is a premixed tape with both....so you can go back and forth till you are done.....and feeling quite exhausted. That's what works for ME anyway. (.......even if I AM a Republican, Amer.......LMAO!)
Author amerikajin Posted December 22, 2003 Author Posted December 22, 2003 I like your idea of the pre-mixed CD, Arabess. As for Headbanger's music....it works for me if I'm in the mood to work fast; but I usually like a good slow jam in the sack so I can take my time. >>>(.......even if I AM a Republican, Amer.......LMAO!)<<< And all this time I thought that Republicans were sexually repressed (kidding, of course).
Quixotic_Dancer Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Oh, I love this thread! I made a great mix-tape years ago for this very, um, purpose, but I left it with an ex-boyfriend, darn the luck. Here were a few things on it: "I'm Your Man" -- Leonard Cohen "Foxy Lady" -- Jimi Hendrix "Dancin" -- Chris Isaac "Somewhere Down the Crazy River" -- Robbie Robertson The last one includes the following "dialogue": The one thing you gotta learn, she said, is not to be afraid of it. I said, No, I like it, I like it, it's good. She said, You like it now, but you'll learn to love it later. Ok, I need to, um, just slip away from my desk for awhile...be back in about 20 minutes...
peaches1234 Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 The entire "Cruel Intentions" soundtrack!
mj931 Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Anything by Joe is usually pretty hot and sweet. His new disc And Then really works as well...
Author amerikajin Posted December 23, 2003 Author Posted December 23, 2003 >>>Ok, I need to, um, just slip away from my desk for awhile...be back in about 20 minutes... <<< Uh, oh...I think someone's about to get cozy with a special someone else and do some quixotic dancing under the sheets.
dyermaker Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 "with a special someone else" Are you sure? Someone else?
Author amerikajin Posted December 23, 2003 Author Posted December 23, 2003 I realize it probably sounds wussified for a guy to like Marc Anthony's songs. It was my ex who first introduced me to some of his better tracks. The radio played "I need to know" and "You sang to me" both of which were good, but his two best are "When I dream at night" and "Don't let me leave". Slow, soulful jams. Check it out sometime.

Caddy Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 MMMMM, some Barry. Some techno. Some deep bass hitting tunes. Depends on how the mood strikes me.
bark Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 I'm Your Man" -- Leonard Cohen "Foxy Lady" -- Jimi Hendrix "Dancin" -- Chris Isaac "Somewhere Down the Crazy River" -- Robbie Robertson QD, that's a very nice set. Sweet.
moimeme Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 1812 Overture. Have you timed the...er... crescendo?
UCFKevin Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Oh, it all works out perfectly. Now, The William Tell Overture, on the other hand...that's one hell of a work out. Abs of steel when that's over with.
