Woggle Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Right my in laws are staying over for the holidays. Last Christmas I went over there but this time they came over here and I love spending the holidays with them. I never had a true family oriented christmas where we all sit in front of the tree and open presents until I married my 2nd wife. I won't go into detail but christmas growing up was not nice at all in my household. This christmas was just so nice and It felt really good being around a healthy family that loves each other but they live on the west coast so I only really get to see them in person once or twice a year. When I look at them I see how my wife turned out the way she is. It will be sad to see them go next week.
alphamale Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 you must have had a lot of eggnog, great stuff
Eve Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Just make sure that they know that you both enjoy and appreciate their company.. this is what healthy families do Hun! Maybe arrange other meetings in The New Year, if only for a weekend at a time? I mean, do you know much about the area where they live? Are you into exploring new things? Get creative because remember - you can do anything you want... so you might as well do fun things. SO, glad that you all had a fab Christmas (I love hearing about people having a good time) and it is really good to see a positive post from you, Mr Woggle. Personally, I hope that you have a little one soon with your lovely wife and find that special beauty within truly loving a child. **** the past and enjoy the present, I say! Take care, Eve xx
Author Woggle Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 I don't think we will be having kids soon. We love kids but we live a lifestyle that will be severely limited with children. Maybe we are better in the babysitter role.
Eve Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 In some circumstances children can limit ones lifestyle.. yes, I would agree with this. I would still say that it depends on the people involved though. I know one couple who love travelling and their children have been all over the world and are mind blowingly balanced kids. Realistically, that could have played out quite differently! They even took the kids out of school for a mad amount of time to trek here and there. ... but only you two know your situation. Still, I am really happy for you. I suppose I could relate to your post because my Hubby comes from a settled family and being around them enabled me to let go off my past that bit easier. Take care, Eve xx
