kwiley Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Is it while you're on vacation or while you're working? I'm a teacher and I have another week of vacation and my contention is that this is hell!!! I want to go back to work tomorrow! Keeping me busy and my mind on the students and lessons would be so optimal at this time. Today was my breakup (see my thread about the world standing still!) and I swear the earth is rotating slower because of my personal catastrophe. Can this day and week get over faster, I can hear Rod Serling now, "Oh but kwiley never knew that time is measured not by the clock but by the mind, a mind that stares ponderously at seconds that turn into minutes and minutes into hours as he deals with a heart broken in the . . . Twilight Zone.

Twilight Zone. My worst breakup time is that moment of weakness when I want to give in and have a "talk" with my ex. Bulls***. My gut knows I don't want to just talk, I want things back they were before October when I was part of a couple who was just having fun with life together. THAT'S the time I remind myself of why I am here in the first place. Then I find my strength NOT to pick up that phone or give in to my ex's recent requests to hang out. He is STILL engaged for pete sakes! I get over that worst breakup time by reminding myself that I WANT to feel better not worse.
McGrupp Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 i got dumped at work. my job is retail by myself. so i sat for the next 11 hours staring at the walls. then i added 4 months of staring at the walls. now im certifiable. thought about becoming a teacher just for moments like that/this.
carolinawanderer Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 The day after Christmas?! That is awful... Worst time to get dumped is ten days after you move across the country for someone and assume you're going to be with them there for years...that happened to me.
CentralJersey Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 10 days after moving accross the country is rough. Hang in there...we all are going through the same things. I just post on here when I want to vent...hopefully the frequency of my posts goes down over time!
curiousnycgirl Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 The worst time to break up is when it's happening to you.
