There's this woman in my area that has been on all the popular dating sites across the board....both free and non-free.

Of course I emailed her, and got the typical response....a non-response. LOL

She wasn't too bad looking at the time. Take a look at her now...and she really packed on the pounds. She looks chronically obese.

My how the tables have turned.

I have seen this happen over the 10 years I've been online dating....someone who puts on the weight over that time....rejected tons of guys that emailed her....and now expects guys to want her after the weight gain....interesting turn of events.

(This goes for guys and women.)

wanna email her again and see if she responds? :)

You don't actually know whether she ignored lots of guys, just that she ignored you! That's kinda mean to enjoy her bad fortune too, not her fault if she didn't find anyone she liked!

Unless you're a member of a minority group, online dating is considered bottom of the barrel. As a Jew, I have a legit reason to use date, if I wanted, because there are so few jews... But otherwise, people who don't need to use online dating, don't..

I don't know where you are drawing that conclusion. I am on match and I know a number of people who are as well. In fact, some of the best dates I have been on have been through this service.

I don't know anyone, either involved or not involved in online dating, who considers it a stigma. Anyone who does is obviously still living in the past because there is no major difference between an online dating service and traditional speed dating, other than the obvious use of the internet.

I browse the profiles in my area every once in a while (when I'm bored, no impure thoughts ), and I must admit it is somewhat satisfying to see the profiles of women who've ignored my badass self (yes, it's true ) an year and a half ago, still "active" on there. (If they were smarter, they could have been snuggling with me on the couch, a place now strictly reserved for my wonderful girlfriend:p)

Most women who stay active that long have a lot of disposable income to burn because they don't go out really, or they are "active" but don't pay so they can't communicate.

I actually know a number of women who fall into the latter.

Anyway, good for you man. It's always nice seeing someone who ended up on the better end of all of this crap instead the countless "woe-is-me" posters who clearly blame everything else but themselves...

amen to that Sam Spade...in total agreement.....it makes me think what they missed out when they ignored my email (i'll admit I've been ignored, just like so many other men who have contacted in their geographic area)....and 10 years later, even after the dial up days, they're still active on every known website.

Could you clarify your statement on minorities and online dating please.

If you're a minority it's even harder to find a match online. http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/2009/10/05/your-race-affects-whether-people-write-you-back/

In my experience, I've had an easier time getting responses from Black women when compared to any other racial group. It's not an ideal situation because I'd have like to have gotten responses from a range of women but this is the way online dating works at the moment.
