First let me say I'm all for dating someone of a different race :). I've been sort of interested in dating a black guy because I've only ever been with white and latin guys.... For some reason black guys haven't ever messaged me on dating sites but I finally received one message from this one guy.

He's kinda cute but I have to admit I'm a bit intimidated by his motorcycle, the tattoos, and the fact that he looks like he could snap me in two. lol

Anyone have any experiences to share about the first time they went out with someone who was very opposite to them in race? (such as white going out with black, black with white, black with asian, white with asian, etc)?

I'm asian and I've dated white men and hispanic men. There aren't really any difference except the color of their skin, background and culture.

The thing is I don't think you should judge a book by it's cover. Having a motorcycle and tattoos doesn't necessary make them a bad person except it tells you their hobbies and interests. What you should really look out for are the traits you don't want in a man- dishonesty, abusive, etc.

Oh not much then.... only a couple of absolutely vital aspects.....:rolleyes:

I would think background would be a primary issue to consider, as certainly would be culture....

Quite apart from the kind of temperament and attitude he has, together with a criminal record or previous incarceration history, I would say Culture (upbringing, conditioning) is a pretty important factor.

but - the bottom line is - nothing ventured, nothing gained.

if you don't jump in, you'll never know how great the water is, will you?

From my experience and what I've been talking to with other single people I know.....they typically would not date someone that's black due to their family, they think they wouldn't approve...no joke....yes...and it does matter to them what their families think. Of course, they have the same view point as they're own parents, so it might be moot.

And I hear it on BOTH sides of the table...black parents don't want their child dating a white person, and vice-versa.

Esp. with parents that are still somewhat old-school.

Hm. I'm a big believer in intelligence no matter the skin color. I don't think eubonics is that attractive. Just because the dude has a "dagree" doesn't mean he's smart. I can think of at least two stupid people off the top of my head with bachelor's degrees. Not to mention that I imagine BA in physical education wasn't that difficult to attain.

I would also question the very first hobby being "working out." Seriously? That is your main interest? He sounds about as deep as a puddle of mud.

It is also the only reason you are even interested. I notice that any time anybody of any other race is interested in black males 90 percent of the time it is thug looking ones they bother with.

:lmao::lmao: He sounds like my very own prince charming. I would have a hard time keeping up with his dizzying intellect.
