I think I'm going to move to a rural area to avoid seeing couples

We're having a blizzard right now, and I went out for a walk,a nd it was all couples, playing in the snow :(

The last time there was a blizzard and I had a girlfriend, I got dumped on the spot for someone she just met.

Guess what? There are couples everywhere.

You can't escape them.

I know.

I tried....

Does it help to say that you're free to have mind numbing sex with strangers on the weekends?

carriet is right. no escaping THE COUPLES. so do you not have any female friends who could be a potential SO? sounds as though you're decent enough to not call on someone just to fill a temporary void. that's good!

Quit feeling sorry for yourself and dwelling on the times you were dumped, and get out there and make something positive happen for yourself.

Farmers propogate too. So do chickens, cows and sheep.

Tell you one thing Beta, if you moved out to the countryside, you may well find the women a little more to your liking.

Oh for Chrissakes! He is hopeless....yes, betamanlet, you will NEVER find a GF ever..ugh!

Hey! It's my favorite buddy from LoveShack! How are ya!? Hey guess what?? There are probably more settled down couples in rural areas than in the big city! GOOD CHOICE! PAL!

Couples can be pretty annoying, make me wanna punch them in the face, much like teenagers ==>so full of potential, and so apparently boneheaded.

(I'm pretty sure many people think that as well when I and my own gf walk around, and they're right :D)

They are everywhere! The thing is that being single makes you notice it a lot more. The supermarket is the worst, me standing there accompanied by a basket with a dinner for one set up; usually involving a bottle of whisky and something spicy, mostly chicken, but then you see couples shopping for a nice meal between them. That's when i seem to feel the envy of couples the most.

I was b ehind a couple in line, who were all over each other, they were buying food, and booze, and there's a blizzard going on. Guess who is having sex tonight and guess who isn't...

Dude you gotta get to the point where it doesn't bother you anymore. I am always surrounded by couples, but you know what? It doesn't bother me. Good for them.

I have my hobbies and I have my own passions in life. One day I'll meet the right girl but for the time being I'm single. So what? Being single is freedom. I'm around married couples all the time, and I find them incredibly boring.

Besides, the best thing about being single is you can fart when you are alone and not have to worry about the other person smelling it.

Seriously?

You need to fix yourself before any decent woman will go for you.

Be happy for them and realize that if they found love you can too. I don't understand why some people are bothere so much by another person's happiness.

The grass is always greener

I have friends who are miserable in relationships and i have friends in good marriages but bored to tears and tell me sometimes they wish they were single..

When I was single and on death row I used to get so stressed out about sex. There I was sitting in the middle of a huge pile of fan mail from females who wanted me - and couldn't even get a single conjugal visit.

But being determined and having a proactive attitude I filtered my fan mail as follows: I eliminated the few correspondents who had made either racial slurs or had an arrogant attitude because who wants that. I then sorted purely by appearance. I picked the top 3 - hotties and proceeded to tell each of them how they were the woman of my dreams and if they could simply provide me alibis for a select set of dates - we could be together in RL.

Anywhoo - here I am tonight. Paroled and livin it up with the woman who gave me my freedom. So I realize some of us think women are taking away our freedoms - but gosh for me it was just exactly the opposite. :) :) :)

Beta,

I am not very familiar with the D.C. area (I have only spent a day there at the museums many years ago), but your tongue-in-cheek remark about going "rural" may not be too off the mark. You should consider meandering through some smaller towns to meet available ladies. I live in a more rural area of the country, and people tend not to be so superficial. In my own case, I can honestly say that it has NEVER occured to me to actually care what kind of shoes a man wears (you referenced this in another thread).

I was also in the path of that snowstorm, but received only a dusting compared to what you received, I am sure. Do what you can to survive the cabin fever, then get out and hit those small towns!! :)

Living in a small city that most LS'ers would call "rural", I can see some advantages for a guy in a rural area if he is young (early 20's) and knows that he wants an LTR. Past college age, I think it's slim pickings for singles of either sex. I know that if I was single, I would move to a larger city immediately.

Yeah, but the single gals stick out like a sore thumb.....so when you see a cutie holding a little basket of stuff.....make your move....because everyone else in the place are married or couples. lol

Mehh, stay out of rural areas, I have the experience of living in a rural area, can't even approach a woman in a bookstore or mall without her boyfriend Bubba showin' up.
