Land Shark Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Kate got the house and all the kids. Jon got... who knows what. Besides a lawsuit. Kate's just another walkaway wife, tearing the heart and self-respect out of another one of our brothers. There is no justice in this land.
burning 4 revenge Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I don't know how Woggle can look at his wife without disgust after something like this You know shes just hiding her smirk
carhill Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Interesting how public sentiment swayed towards the female, even though many people despised the way Kate treated Jon on-camera, and Jon even had his legally obtained gun banned from the property. God forbid children ever learn about responsible firearm use, you know, like hunting I doubt either is hurting for money, but TLC is suing Jon for breach of contract. Again, just another barometer of how society works. Coincidentally, they got married around the same time myself and stbx got married and apparently also to be in Hawaii, but that got canceled and they renewed their vows in Hawaii in 2008. Maybe it was prophetic that a military chaplain married us
Hot Carl Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I don't know how Woggle can look at his wife without disgust after something like this You know shes just hiding her smirk She probably threw a secret party when she heard they beat another one into submission.

Citizen Erased Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 She probably touched herself with wicked fingers Who the hell is hot carl?

God forbid children ever learn about responsible firearm use, you know, like hunting I've never seen an episode. I have seen one clip of the show on the news when it was announced Jon and Kate were seperating. What I remember was that there all these kids at the table, Kate was running around doing all the work and Jon was just standing there like an idiot. I just have four kids and I can tell you that it gets crazy sometimes. If I were running around trying to get everything done and my H was just standing, not doing anything untill he was told, I'd kick him out of the house. Once again, I have just seen this one clip. If I had seen others, I might feel more sympathetic towards Jon.
Crow9726 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Isn't kind of silly to base opinions on edited television segments...sound bites...and tabloid conjecture and fiction??? These people are fake...always have been...and reality television is just another sign that civilization as we know it is dying a slow and painful death. Between celebrities and sports personalities raking in millions each year just to entertain us...it won't be long until we become the new Rome...gladiators and all. Come on 12/21/12...
carhill Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Essentially, the show portrayed Jon as the ninth child. Assume what you will. It's TV, so, like all surfaces, I don't believe reality is as portrayed. Based on the show's theme and the advertiser mix, I would assume the target audience was female, so, well, need I go further ? Kate and the children stay in the new home which was built during the show and Jon pays child support. My bet is he'll go back to doing IT work like he did before TLC came knocking. Kate evidently has renewed her nursing license but continues to pursue media opportunities. Life goes on. Go back and watch a couple shows and see how Jon is, as a father, with the children. Then, imagine role reversal. Jon becomes Kate and vice-versa. The interesting part is, predictably, the sentiments would remain the same
Tayla Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Whoever got the kids, was going to get the use of the house. Both parties still gain assets from the house. Whoever got the kids, were going to get support. Not sure I am getting the angst on that simple reasoning. Its called the laws. I dont agree on some of the rulings out there in this matter, but I can say, so long as the kids have a roof over there heads, and food in their bellies, its no ones business how it was settled. Now if Kate gets alimony...then I would be livid. She can sustain herself. Jon left on his own terms and due to his extra marital activities. The courts are upholding the laws as they stand in todays society.
carhill Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 And today's society is exactly what created that dynamic, played out on little boxes far and wide. I hope it's dead and soon, hopefully before I go. It needs to end. For the record, and in line with the target demographic, J&K+8 was my stbx's show, not mine. I just set up the TiVo to time-shift for her and watched enough to form an opinion of what the producers wanted to portray. Someone probably envisioned this outcome and it worked out fabulously, since watching eight kids (nine with Jon) grow up gets boring after awhile. The new show will just feature Kate; no Jon and no kids. Coming soon
Woggle Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 So Kate talked to him like he was a piece of garbage then cheated on him first with a bodyguard before asking him for a divorce yet he is wrong for living it up after being nagged and whipped for years? He is a single man so he can play around all he wants as far as I am concerned. This just shows that some women will take a woman's side no matter what.
Samantha0905 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 The only reality television I watch is "Amazing Race" and "Survivor." If she has eight kids she should get the house. They need a home.
carhill Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Wog's, remember the pink. Never forget the pink. It's all around. Sad but true If men would network the way women do, we could end this. We have no one to blame but ourselves...
shadowplay Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I think I only saw part of one episode. For the most part I don't care, and I'm sick of hearing about it. But my reaction was they're both unlikeable people in different respects. Kate seems like a controlling bitch. Jon seems like a pushover/wimp/uber beta male who would also willingly screw somebody over given the chance.

Neither one of them is too great but I have an instinct to stick up for my fellow men when they are under the misandrist birrage like Jon is sometimes.
Sam Spade Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Jon is a douchebag, no question. What I don't understand is why Kate - that hideous monster of a female - doesn't get an equal part of the negative sentiment. She's a self-righteous, nagging, evil, inconsiderate, selfish, bitch. But nooooooo, she's raising 8 kids, the must be a saint then

Woggle Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I know this a bit off topic but this shows demonstrates why the reality tv trend just needs to die already. Watching 8 kids be traumatuzed because of their waste of space parents is not my idea of good entertainment.
carhill Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Jon seems like a pushover/wimp/uber beta male who would also willingly screw somebody over given the chance. That was my impression as well, from the few episodes I watched. It was most noticeable in the 'interview' episodes, where Jon and Kate were sitting in a room being questioned about stuff. I don't know if that was the natural dynamic or if they scripted it for TV. Regardless, not a male personality I would want to model for my children. If it is real, that would explain many things. I saw similar signs in myself, prior to therapy, and I didn't like what I saw.
