Green Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Would you date some one if they were a bathroom attendant, you know one of those people who stand in a bathroom and turn the faucet on and give you soap and paper towels for sanitary needs? Is there some other job that would be taboo for you?

betamanlet Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I wouldn't date a stripper or a nyone who has done porn.

Is there some other job that would be taboo for you? Does anyone under the age of 70 actually get hired to do this job? Anywhere i've been that had an attendant the man was old. Real old.
xpaperxcutx Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Musicians. I find them one dimensional sometimes with an conceited personality. I used to know a 19 year old with a decent music background ( he said he was a vocalist/guitarist/writer) but when it came right down to it, he talked more ( bull****) than he actually sang or played the guitar.
TheLoneSock Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I won't date any girl that is working at a dead end job (restaurant, retail, customer service, w/e). I care more about whether or not she's in school, or already finished with school. The exception is if she is working that dead end job while she's in school. If that's the case, great, if not - cya. Maybe it's just where I'm at in life, but that's my standard.

Well if his JOB is a musician then he's probably broke.
xpaperxcutx Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Well if his JOB is a musician then he's probably broke. That too. I learned my lesson well after my last semi- date with one. He had big dreams for a guy, but he rather pursue his music ( trying to start a band that was constantly lacking a drummer) rather than take up the option of going back to college.

From all the people I've met while in school they were usually employed in a dead end job.. normally to pay for their tuition... It seems you have eliminated about 80% of your dating pool

TheLoneSock Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Dude if she's cute and she's cool who cares what she does for a living? It takes more than a cute face to attract me.

I wouldn't date a musician either. My last FWB is a musician; he majored in music industry/recording technology at our school, he's in a band and has his own solo project, but has yet to make a sustainable career out of it. What does he do for full-time work? Server at a restaurant...

There seems to be a high correlation.
espec10001 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 It takes more than a cute face to attract me. AND she's cool is what I said. You're telling me if a really attractive and cool girl were into you but she worked in a restaurant you wouldn't date her? Yeah right.
TheLoneSock Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 AND she's cool is what I said. You're telling me if a really attractive and cool girl were into you but she worked in a restaurant you wouldn't date her? Yeah right. Lol, 'cool' is open to very broad interpretation. Everyone has a different view of what 'cool' is so I disregarded that. If she worked at a restaurant and was not in school, nor had any concrete plans to go to school, no I wouldn't date her. I meet enough attractive, 'cool' girls that ARE pursuing an education at my school.

You have to be REALLY AWESOME, and getting really awesome can be done in your free time by practice, while having a day job. That's the smarter way to go about it.
DustySaltus Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I actually worked as a bathroom attendant for one day (Royal Flush Inc. was the name) LOL. What an awful, awful job. But I was in college and needed some extra dough and I did it. Now if I was doing it full time, that's a different story. I won't judge a book by its cover but I do have concerns dating strippers, traffic cops and anyone in the food service industry:rolleyes:

Yeah, if there were any way for him to get into the biz it'd have to be as a producer or something behind-the-scenes because, well...his music is definitely not REALLY AWESOME. Far from it...

There are ways to move up within retail, restaurant, what have you...so the job they are in now isn't necessarily the end of the road.
McGrupp Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 meh. my gf started as a ice cream girl when i met her. she got a great job. hooked up with a dude at said job. then dumped me. so idk about this "great job" thing...

You posted that 8 minutes after I did. Just admit you have selective reading.

I'm getting ready to go to school next fall - Pre-Nursing. But that's alright - I may very well be a little unhinged. LOL
