Its all in your head, and you have to fight your feelings internally. The only thing that will help you is time and general distractions, work, friends, hobbies, thats it. Otherwise, you have to wait it out and stay NC.
tVII Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 "the benefits of thinking positive" by Norman Vincent Peale. and my best advice is: think positive thoughts. haha one negative thought leads to another then another then another then bam. thats why most are depressed. FORCE positivity. its not like your lying to yourself. positivity never lies.
USMCHokie Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I personally feel that the ONLY way to truly get over an ex is to find someone new to fill that place in your life. Other than that, there is no magic bullet. Even time, as powerful as it is, doesn't completely do the trick. It only eases the pain until someone new comes along.
jms76 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 XO, Pretty much what the other LS members said, there is no magic pill. Time does heal all wounds. You have to stay busy and whenever you begin to think about your ex, you must make an effort to think of something else. I know it's hard but the more you practice, the easier it will become for you to move on. Finding someone else will help but only when you are emotionally ready. Only you will know when the time is right. Now, as for a way to keep your brain occupied, I like to get into a good TV series. Two that I really enjoyed are Lost and The Shield. Just depends on your tastes. Both are 5+ seasons long and will take you a long time to watch. Just an idea. Please remember to give yourself time to heal. It won't happen overnight and it may take weeks, months or longer for you to feel like yourself again. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience. Take care and one day at a time.
