madrugada Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Don't know how it was with all of you, but during my month-long breakup my ex-fiancee said some things that still hurt, thinking back. "There are so many things I love about you, but I just don't see it long-term." "Being with you just makes me sad." "I'm willing to give you a chance, but I just don't know." "Things have been awesome the past few weeks, but I think it's just too late." "If we'd had this conversation five months ago, things would be a lot different." "You were so far away for so long." "We need to talk." "Day to day things are fine. But I just don't see a future for us." "I tried so hard to make a life for us. I'm sorry but it just didn't work out." "Are you going out tonight? Sweet. Maybe I'll see you." "It was just too late." "It was just too late." "It was just too late."
bluestraps Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Sounds like my ex too. Some of that stuff makes no sense. My girlfriend was practicaly begging me to ask me to marry her for a long time . Since then she has left me for my friend ( three months ago) how could I ever believe that she really wanted to marry me .Does love just disapear. Maybe you should try harder
thedreg Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 im in the same place as both of you. "its just too late" WTF does that mean? im my case it was less than a month that made the difference? it was fine a month ago but its just too late to change now? not having a resonable answer for the break up drives me so crazy.
Zeegagge Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Wow, oh so familiar to myself as well. My ex fiance fell in love with me a lot faster than I did with her. She was trying so hard to get me to love her the way she loved me. I guess I was guarded from a previous bad experience. By the time I finally came around it was too late. She tried to get her feelings back I know, and did at some points, but steadily they faded. They were gone. It didnt matter what I did from then on. 'too little too late' she would always say. It was just comfort and convenience from there on out, and I could see that. Some nights I wanted to save it, others I didnt care. Now that she's gone I kind of wish I had cared more. By not caring though I was making a decision and I have to stand by what I was feeling at the time. I guess I just miss her even though in when we were together I knew something was wrong. Such is life.

Same story here bro - cept it wasn't a friend of mine it was a friend of hers. No love doesn't disappear like that. Be careful of the people that warm up quick,.. for the also warm down even faster. It took me a year to warm up to her, a total of 4 years together (I guess I wasn't completely warm) and then it was gone in a blink of an eye.
HeavenOrHell Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I got the "I'm worried it's too late" line a lot, in my case it meant things are too late to put right as his feelings for me had worn away due to my neglect. im in the same place as both of you. Author madrugada Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Oh yeah, I almost forgot my favorite: "My heart is telling me to stay, but my head is telling me to run like hell." Talk about twisting the knife.
hisprincess41407 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 so are you guy's back together? I am getting the "it's just too late" and "if you would've said this even a month ago I know we would still be happy" You said your month-long break up so did you guys get back together?
Author madrugada Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 No, hisprincess, we didn't get back together. The breakup itself was a messy, drawn out process that lasted about a month. Let me tell you, it was by far the worst month of my life. She kept going back and forth, saying there was a chance and then saying maybe not. Basically she gave me the ring back at the end of September but didn't back all the way out until the end of October. The line where they say it's too late is the one that's bugged me more than anything, I think. It's the one that fuels the regrets.
Brightmoon Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 " I hope you find what you are looking for. All the best" All the best??? Allllllllllllllll the best???????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dashing daisy Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 "I love you and I really wish I hadn't broken up with you. I thought you were the love of my life but I was an idiot and ruined what we had, and it will never feel normal again." "I love you, but one day, I won't say I love you because I won't feel it anymore."
JaggedRoad Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 My ex couldn't even tell me that she loved me =/ "That's for me to know." "The lyrics to 1, 2, 3, 4 is exactly how I feel." She made no mention of anything being too late, but she said she gave up and she has no desire to do it again.
sean1970 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 "You just need to find the person that is right for you."
JaggedRoad Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Oh, I forgot to mention what she said several weeks back: "We live in our own worlds now. Nothing you say or do is going to affect me,"
