1. Air kiss: When you kind of just go through the motions of kissing the person's cheek, but it's really just kissing air. Completely platonic, anyone can get these.

2. Quick kiss: Friendly, hello/goodbye kiss, exchanged between friends.

3. Two lips, fully planted on cheek, close to the mouth, with eye contact. This indicates, to me, at least some sort of affection towards the other person -- maybe sexual. This is the kind of kiss I got last night from a boy I am slightly crushing on.

4. Kiss halfway on mouth. I just got this kiss from an ex. I've gotten it from other men before, too. I've always wondered: is this kind of kiss done on PURPOSE? Or was their aim just off and got part of the mouth? haha!

Ugh, I HATE the air kiss. Such an insult. You can see its coming when they twist their mouth all the way to their ear. Oh Im that gross eh? Wanna save your lipstick? Then I wont go near ya! Any woman gives me an air kiss, the next time I see her I say hi as I wave at her and turn to talk to someone else.

:p #4...never happened to me...I think it's intentional!

Depends who's doing it. Some random girl you may have met once, or just met...probably affected.

Guido guy from Westchester or NJ with a blow out? Probably affected.

Most of my friends do cheek/air kisses though...men who are acquaintances, etc.. If you actually follow etiquette guidelines (most people don't), cheek/air kisses are way more appropriate than hugs, unless you're very close friends or family.

My b/f's parents are European and they always kiss both my cheeks - I'm still very awkward about it.

Cheek/air/nonkisses mustve been invented to prevent getting lipstick on peoples faces, but done without lipstick....if you know me, dont bother if im too revolting for you.

Anyone I dont know, I just shake hands, I dont air kiss strangers.

I still dont get the context of "affected"

1. Wierd - don't like it

2. never do this

3. This is a classic. It is done by men who want to break the touch barrier in public, without the "full meal deal" on the lips. Usually in a business setting by someone who is being naughty. No need to kiss at all in a business setting.

4. wierd - don't like it.
