I'm pretty sure that's the terminology used by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Laymen just call it clubbin'.

I guess that's a functional way to cope with the depressing world out there, but there have to be some reality checks for crying out loud.

paddington bear Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 basically...all the phrases written in this thread are not only cliches, but also lies (and this is why we hate them ); lies to spare the other person from the brutal truth (you are boring and I'd rather chew my own arm off than continue to date you); lies to make the other person feel more special and secure...but lies nonetheless Or they are the lies spread about by smug couples, because they found 'the one' and because it happened that way for them, they assume the cliche will work for others. We've all heard them and we've probably used a few of them and will continue to do so, because the honest, brutal truth would hurt too damn much.

"OMG LOOKS DONT MATTER TO MEEEE" as her handsome rich boyfriend stands next to her "I like you...as a friend"- we've all been there at one point or another "GIRLS ACT LIKE THAT TOWARDS YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR PERSONALITY!!!" This one is constantly thrown at me and absolutely laughable. How come fat and ugly girls don't mind my personality ( I have an equally unattractive trait for a guy, I'm "only" 5'7) ? Imagine if we said to every woman unattractive to men that it was HER fault and it is a PERSONALITY flaw.

Meanwhile I am breaking my mind thinking why is it that he didnt call? Clearly NOBODY IS EVER THAT BUSY .. IS ALL BS. BUT then the day they 'need something" all of a sudden they magically find time to text you when they are taking a ****.. because they just decided to follow up on you even though they are busy.... **** off!
