Surfer Girl Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I would really like to be friends with someone I had a relationship with for 14 years... It has been 7 years since we talked, because of me wanting NC... I am in another relationship now that I am very happy with.... I feel this person could be a friend after all these years..... I enjoyed talking to him.... yet, would my SO feel bad if I wanted to be friends??? Should I leave it alone or be a friend???
USMCHokie Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 It all depends on how it ended before...the important question is, does he want to be friends...? Did he ever want to be friends through these years? What is there to gain from being his friend?
soheartbroken Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Just be super, super careful. Pleaes DO NOT become someone who has an emotional affair with an ex. Do NOT hurt your current SO because of this ex. Do you trust yourself? If there are feelings, can you cut him off after making contact? I believe we can all experience chemistry with another person, even while in a committed relationship. But you've gotta know when to cut off the contact. If your SO is not comfortable with it I wouldn't do it. Not worth fighting over. Who broke up with who by the way?
