DarkestChapter Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Hey guys, so I'm a university student and I asked a cute girl in one of my classes for her number yesterday and she gave it to me. The problem is that I asked for her number when the whole school is under final exam period...so there is little, if any, free time at the moment. Because of that, I was thinking about asking her if she'd like to meet up at our school library to help each other study for an exam we have coming op on Monday. Afterwards, I'll invite her for some place to eat to get to know her a bit more. Think it's a lame idea to study on a first date?
MSUE Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 well...to me as a girl...who went to school too...I think its a bit lame...its easily interpreted not only as a friendship thing but it may come across as if u were using her/needed her brain to help you w finals...get my train of thought here? Perhaps u can make time for coffee in between studies or just chill till exams are over and done with but continue chatting here and there so she knows you have not forgotten about her...keep her interested
LostInLA Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Agreed, don't do the study thing. Ask her out on a quick coffee date and make sure she knows it's a date. Have fun!
callingyouuu Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Invite her somewhere to eat or hang out after studying, not during. It's actually convenient that it's exam time in that you have a built in excuse not to let the date last for too long and for one of you to get bored. Keep it at half an hour to at most an hour, and don't think about it too much!
Author DarkestChapter Posted December 10, 2009 Author Posted December 10, 2009 Thanks for the advice, haha, yeah guess it was pretty lame... Coffee could work, but I feel like it's been done a lot of times. I was thinking about asking her if she'd like to come smoke some shisha and maybe have a couple of drinks at a shisha bar I know, but I'm not sure if she'd be into that kind of stuff. Should I go for that or just keep it simple and take her to some cafe? Thanks again, I really appreciate the help.

Think it's a lame idea to study on a first date? i think she should understand about final exams and that you are extremely busy. as long as you are going to meet up afterwards to eat, i don't see why she would really care if you studied together prior to this. i would think its kind of a sweet gesture
woopster638 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 ask her out after exams, but make sure u keep her interested at the same time
MSUE Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I dunno about the whole shisha thing? r u trying to find out if she smokes some trees? I'm just curious...Its a cool idea but I can tell you tthis...its hit or miss...why don't u keep it simple? how about sunday brunch? or happy hour? 21+ that is;)

Coffee is the classic black dress of the dating world, It is done so much because it is simple, and gives you time to actually talk. At exam time, probably she needs caffeine and or sugar , not booze or someting that makes you sleepy.
Author DarkestChapter Posted December 10, 2009 Author Posted December 10, 2009 Alright cool, I'll keep it simple then and ask her out for a cup of coffee instead. I didn't think about all the other factors... Thanks for all the help guys
