February. going to go to sunny florida and figure it out from there. my best buddy lives there and my grandparents. i gotta get off my ass and go. will get unemployment. hopefully i can pick up a job and just start living. having fun. meet some new people. get out of the suburbs and experience life a little bit. clear my head. i can always come back. maybe make my way out west as the spring rolls around. may help this seasonal depression. My advice to you MG - book yourself a trip to Vegas, by yourself. I'll even consider using my comps at the Rio for a free room...you just need to get out of dodge for a bit...no better place to let loose in the world.]

BUT i cant go back, and now im here for here. deal with it. so i will. gonna have some fun and just see some life that isnt NJ. (although florida is the same **** with a beach lol) did i hear comps?

Bulldozed Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I went to Vegas 3 wks after my ex and I split...traded up to 1st class with my frequent flyer miles that I was saving to take my ex there in November where I was going to propose to her....instead sat next to one Kid Rock's drummer on the way out. hit it off with him, and when my boys arrived the following day, we had an outstanding time hangin with the band at the palms after the show. Lots of perks my friend. Going to fla will be very therapeutic for you. It's still tough though, I still love and miss my ex, despite what a lying, cheating whore she turned out to be; but as I've said before, Karma's a bitch, and I take comfort knowing that in the end, she'll get what she deserves. I actually admire those on here who actually experienced amicable splits, few as there may be?

I have momentarily lapses now and again, but remaining strict nc has worked out pretty well so far. I find that after an emotional relapse, it takes a full day to get back on track. It's crazy how the mind works. the dreams i have typically are the catalyst for relapses...they're happening less and less frequently now.

You need to tell yourself that these are the things you can do when you're single...just pick up and go whenever you please...worrying about just yourself...it can be rather liberating...

This sounds like an awesome plan. Moving will be the best thing for you. You'll open up to new avenues and opportunities. Even if you live alone with no friends for a bit, it's like boat camp for the soul. God bless.

I have wonderful family, friends and a biz in NY, but could NOT do the winter, gray skies thing a minute longer so moved to FL about 7 yrs ago. ( went to college here, had friends, and the market booming helped ) My life went sideways when my husband died 7 months ago, but I am still here, still putting one foot in front of the other, and sunshine and sandals makes everything just a tad bit easier ! But remember, don't wait to heal in February, still work on it now so by that time you will be 2 months into getting over everything.

I just really believe that you have this great life ahead of you. But you gotta do the hard work. Mending a broken heart is ridiculousy hard and that is why it will work!

I've been unemployed through most of my breakup.. And honestly it was the best time to go through something like this. I am planning a "city slickers" holibob for my 40th next year on my own..........scary because i was planning going with him but i recon I will make more memories going on my own. Your groundhog day just happens to be mourning your ex. You will come back different. Maybe a little, maybe a lot..but definitely different in a good way!
