I have a not-so-great combination of "winter blues" and "must get a lot done".

I have this sitting in front of me right now: 5-HTP.

This was recommended for me to try.

On the bottle it says it says to take 2 tablets (I shall take one or half of one instead).

If I take one, I would be taking in 50 mg. of 5-HTP (l-5-Hydroxytryptophan). Additionally, there's a bit of Vitamin-C + B6 to help it along. I read the warning label well; no contraindications.

I'd like to know if any of you have tried it?

What were your experiences?

Was it easy to stop taking it?

Did you find it helpful?

no clue about 5-htp.... but any b-complex blends will help with mood, stress and the like.

I checked it out - thank you for your help.

It is strange but I think I feel an effect already. It has to be the placebo effect. But maybe not.

Thanks again.

A friend swears by it as something to take to reduce the effects of a come-down after a night on E.

Never really could tell if it worked.

Your post sent me looking up stuff on erowid. Apparently, it's pretty common - I didn't realize. Looking up the effects on serotonin re: 5-HTP and E, I can see how it makes sense.

It appears to be working for me so far. It's a subtle effect, but it does feel significant.

Thanks, Enema!
