lgstudiodojdtf Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I've been seeing news about Tiger Woods a lot lately. Suppose I were a woman and I wanted to marry a rich man. By marrying a rich man, would it be reasonable to assume that he is more likely to cheat? Is it a safer move then for a woman to target a poor man if the poor man is less likely to cheat?
angie2443 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I would say that many times it is, but it also depends on the man in question. I think pro athletes, actors and other celebrities are more prone to cheating, not just because they have opportunities thrown at them left and right, but because their personalities drive them to be more focused on themselves and not their spouses and families.
Lizzie60 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 We cannot compare Tiger Woods, Donald Trump (billionnaires) to ordinary rich men... they are insanely rich. I would say that fortune makes an ugly guy attractive.. other than that.. nope.. MOST men cheat.. poor or rich... Fortune makes it easier for more OWs.. everywhere on the planet.. while ordinary guys usually have one (cause they don,t have the 'job' to travel around the world, etc..) plus they don't have the time, it would be too easy to get caught.
Mr-T Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I personally think its BS, IMO if people are going to cheat its not because they are rich or poor. Its because there is something missing in a relationship or that they are unsatisfied.
Ruby Slippers Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I do believe that more attractive, wealthy, and otherwise desirable people are more likely to cheat, simply because they have more options and tend to have inflated egos to go along with the looks and money. The world kisses the asses of the rich and beautiful at every turn, and that usually has a corrupting influence on them. Also, they know from experience that partners are more likely to overlook their indiscretions, as they enjoy the benefits of being with a highly desirable partner too much to leave.
threebyfate Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Wealth doesn't define character. But fame can, since it attracts narcissistic personality types.
