I'll be honest with friends that ask.. strangers and people I hardly know, I would never be that honest.. My friends know me and my honesty.. I've been damn brutal with them sometimes also but thats why they come and ask me..

I have an issue with high places.. not heights themselves but the prospect of falling.. So whats the best way to conquer this fear??? Skydiving of course.. though I may need someone to kick me out of a perfectly good airplane. That's a big part of it. Jumping in the fire is very important. It's not quite that simple though. If it was, it would be an extreme rarity to find someone not confident about dating. Having a few people cheering you on could give someone just enough confidence to take that leap.

Just cheering dosen't always work.. it just tends to put them on the spot. Alot of people.. myself included learn by observation and example. If the guy dosen't know how to fake the confidence.. just telling them to do it dosen't help.

Even so, if a woman weighs 300 lbs it is an extremely touchy subjuct and you probably still have to proceed with caution. There have been times where friends have had to tell me something difficult. When they mix in positive things it has softened the blow greatly.

My friends deserve honesty to sugar coat and lie to them would be a disservice.
AD1980 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Furthermore, any guy who knows anything about picking up women will tell you that the key to approaching women is to look for signs of receptive interest. Seeing a woman that appeals to you physically but doesn't even look your way is not a strong enough sign that she wants to be approached. Seeing her body language that is receptive to your eye contact or if she even smiles or holds her gaze and comes back for more, IS. Creeps fail to see this. My problem is i never get those looks or stares but i never approach women anyway so its not a problem
donnamaybe Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 sure sure, I know what you mean I've been approached by guys that came out of left field who were clearly checking me out and I hadn't even noticed them. But what about if you are not into him what do you do? Have you ever gotten to the point where you are trying to get away and trying to be polite but at the same time trying not to be too friendly as to give them any hope, and yet they keep persisting? that's kind of creepy. THAT would be creepy, yes. But you can't find that out until they approach you, and a guy THAT obtuse doesn't even KNOW he's creepy! Have you ever seen a guy with a creepy face? It's not hotness factor it's pervert factor! That's more an expression than a particular arrangement of facial features, but yes. I've worked in criminal justice in one area or another for 25 years. I wish the OP would come back and tell us what she meant by that... Me too!
