KimberlyQ Posted December 16, 2003 Posted December 16, 2003 my boyfriend and i are discussing mutually breaking up, mostly due to the fact that he never wants to have children, and i just might. there are also other profound incompatibilities. however, the main point is that we love and respect each other. we hope to remain friends, but we've been reading articles and posts everywhere that seem to point to friendship between recent exes as an impossibility. i am friends w/ some exes from long ago, but it's been a long time since i've had to transition to friendship w/ someone i still love. i can see having issues of jealousy or confusion with the new role. any opinions that might be helpful? thanks.

I just think it brings back memories and I'm going to want to get back together and I know it aint going to work. You said you have been friends with some of your exes. Maybe you can be friends with this one. Sorry, about the advice this is all I have.
