sakuraheart Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Hello everyone. I need some advice. Last night my boyfriend of 5 months, told me he has been texting another girl daily. The girl is an old English school classmate of his, and his old English teacher asked him to help her with her English, because she wants to become a Flight Attendant. He says they text daily, just short notes, so she can practice her English (my boyfriend speaks fluent English.) I asked if he was attracted to her, but he said no! He has known her since he was in grade school and sees her like a little sister. I am trying not to worry, but I don't like the idea of him texting another girl everyday....what do you think??
Yukikazi Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I think you need to get over your jealousy and relax.
Author sakuraheart Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Thank you! Yes, I actually I completely agree with you! I wasn't actually too worried about it until my girlfriends' said that he shouldn't be texting another girl everyday! Now I am worrying, because if they think it is bad, it is probably bad.
norajane Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Has he shown you the texts? Have you read them? This story sounds fishy to me. There are far better ways to practice English than to send daily texts to someone.

Yukikazi Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Ditto. This sounds like a CYA story to me. What makes you say that? I have a chick friend who isn't the best at english.. she text's me almost every day (since her comp broke and we can't MSN) but there is nothing naughty or sexual about our talks.. its all her whining about her life (not that i really wanna hear it) or we talk about the career choice we have in common and I help her with her art work.. nothing bad. If my future girlfriend gets all huffy about this.. well too damn bad.. I'm not doing anything wrong.. I refuse to throw a friend under the bus just cause she is jealous..
LucreziaBorgia Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Texting a friend every day is one thing, but to come up after five months and say to your girlfriend that you've been doing it and come up with what sounds like a really lame excuse like that? There are plenty of ways to practice English effectively for a job, and 'texting' isn't a plausible one, nor is it a believable excuse. Sounds like he is covering his ass before it starts to show. Plenty of people do this when they are afraid of getting busted, and ironically it is the odd or fake sounding excuses which sends up the red flags in the first place.
aystro Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 It's a silly excuse. Usually when people do something they tell it straight away or some time wait like a day. But the fact is he IS texting to a female. He is not related to her and she doesn't pay him for it. It's not his job I presume. I wouldn't find it acceptable. Btw like somebody said above me: go up to him and tell him that you are "interested in finding what kind of level English he is trying to teach her". Do this with a smile and total innocence. This way you don't accuse him and you can go any way you like! If he finds ANY excuse not to give you his phone to look at the messages instantly, then you can start taking measures. Good luck . Let us know how it went .
Mr-T Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Wow there really is a lot of very untrusting people in the world. I cant believe if a man has a friend thats female then he must be shagging her. If there friend then let them be friends. After all its you he spends his time with and a text is nothing!
Mr-T Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 A friend he hid for 5 months? And what of it. surely its his choice to tell her what he likes. I wouldnt have said he hid it, more like he just never mentioned it because it was something that he just did. Some of you just seem to have affairs on the brain. Doesnt mean it happens to everyone
Miad's Princess Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 And what of it. surely its his choice to tell her what he likes. I wouldnt have said he hid it, more like he just never mentioned it because it was something that he just did. And why do you think he decided to tell her now?!
Yukikazi Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 And why do you think he decided to tell her now?! Maybe she asked
