DenverBachelor Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I'm doing alright coming down off the alcohol. I fell into a deep depression early this afternoon and went and got the only OTC anti-depressant I know of -- dextromethorphan. 3 times the therapeutic dose causes the brain to inhibit re-uptake of serotonin. That's only a temporary fix until I can see the therapist and get some xanax or proper medication. Then, on the way back to the apartment building that my ex also lives in, some guy held the elevator for me and I ran in. Lo' and behold my ex is riding the same elevator up from the parking level. I mean ... heh ... it's like a 30 second window in the day and I keep finding her in them. God has a sense of humor. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. If I go NC, I see her all the time. If I break NC, she writes back something really sweet. I can't wait until my lease is up in 5 months. I was such an idiot for getting a place in the same building but I love this building and I didn't want her to dictate where I would move. I am pretty much over her. Her rebound is looks like a spaz. I'm so much better than him just by looking at him. I've come to the conclusion that I'm a cut above her as well and it is stupid for me to piss and moan about wanting her back in my life. Anyhow -- that's the update. I'm going to surf the next and go to sleep early and hit the gym tomorrow in the early afternoon. I hope you all are doing well. Pegging for an ex just isn't worth it. She dumped me -- she quit the relationship. I don't want to be with someone who can't stick through the bad times. I'll let the guy she's with now deal with it all. Good luck Mr. Rebound. I'm moving on to a much hotter and better woman -- one who doesn't need affirmation from guys 24/7. One who didn't get a boob job. It will be nice to feel some real breasts again.

I glad to here the update. I have also read (but I only play a doctor on TV) Omega-3 fatty acids: Studies suggest that omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil may be helpful in relieving mild to moderate depression. Fish oil is an excellent source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an essential fatty acid found in nerve and brain tissue. I recommend doses of fish oil supplements in the range of 2,000- 3,000 mg per day of EPA+DHA.SAMe: A synthetic version of a derivative of the amino acid L-methionine, S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe) was judged "superior to placebo and is as effective as tricyclic antidepressants in alleviating depression" in a November, 2002, article by Harvard researchers published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It has the advantage of working more quickly than St John's wort. Use only the butanedisulfonate form in enteric-coated tablets, or in capsules. Try 400 - 1,600 mg a day on an empty stomach. Keep us updated.
