craig841 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 After a conversation with several friends, I kind of realised that I'm not like the vast majority of men I meet. The main sentence that got me thinking was this (this is the basic gist of it): 'Underneath it all, the basic instinct of men is to have sex with many women to spread their seed around as much as possible, and for women it is to find one suitable man to provide her with a child'. I'm a straight male, but have always identified more with the latter half of that sentence, i.e. I want to find one woman that is good for me and with which I can form a loving relationship and possibly have a child. I'm 19 now but still think I'm acting like an old man lol. Firstly, how many of you agree with the statement, and secondly how many of you are the same as this or know someone like this?

I've dated a lot since my divorce 7 years ago, and let me tell you, a lot of bad dates. Now, I've found someone amazing and have no desire to date or sleep with another woman. But, I think at 19, you need to sow some wild oats before you get to that point, wait until you're 30.

I think that is the typical predisposition from nature. There are a number of examples to illustrate the point that men and women (generally speaking) have different natures, but one that comes to mind is the importance of visual stimulation to men. It is obviously something that is not found readily in female nature, otherwise there would be a female equivalent (in type and amount) to all the male porn out there. But the overwhelming majority of porn appeals to men, whether straight or gay. With that said, I know and have met men who are very feminine in their thought processes and behaviors. I've also talked to and seen posts on this website from women who (assuming they are who they say they are) sound more like men in a lot of their thinking. So you are different and in the minority, but not the only male out there that thinks that way. I would say I fall under the typical male majority.
